This Atlas V 551 rocket, designated AV-105, stands 205 feet (62.5m) tall and will weigh 1.3 million pounds (589,000kg) once fully fueled for liftoff. It leaves the pad on 2.7 million pounds (12 megaNewtons) of thrust from the main engine and five SRBs to launch Kuiper 2.

China strengthens its space capabilities by launching new remote-sensing satellites. China successfully launched the Yaogan-53 and Yaogan-56 remote-sensing satellites from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center aboard a Long March-4B rocket. The satellites will be used for scientific experiments, resource surveys, crop monitoring, and disaster prevention. The launch marked the 666th mission of the Long March rocket series.

I’ve been kinda quiet because I’ve been cooking up something special for NASA’s upcoming Artemis II. Today I’m finally announcing Launch Party — a cinematic livestream built to restore rocket launches to their rightful place as pop culture events. Produced with founding sponsors Lockheed Martin, Firefly Aerospace, Courtyard by Marriott Titusville, Playalinda Brewing Company, and Core Surf. We’ll be broadcasting live from The Space Bar — a rooftop venue overlooking the launch pad — for Artemis II, humanity’s first crewed voyage to the Moon in more than half a century. This is live launch coverage reimagined: No anchor desk. No scripts. No acronym soup. Because space doesn’t need to be explained. It needs to be EXPERIENCED Press Release → Lockheed Martin Space Firefly Aerospace

🚨🇨🇳 China's rocket fuel breakthrough shakes up the space race China's Long March-12 rocket just test-fired a new "high-energy synthetic kerosene" — and the numbers are impressive 🔸 The fuel increased engine specific impulse by around 8 seconds, boosting payload capacity by roughly 10% 🔸 Developed by a CASC subsidiary after 13 years of research, the fuel improves energy density and combustion efficiency 🔸 The system was tested across multiple engine types and adapted for extreme launch conditions in Hainan The development will enhance China’s ability to deploy larger satellite constellations and support future deep-space missions, reflecting growing competition in global space launch capabilities
