Anakin and Dooku’s rematch on Naboo isn’t just one of the best, most intense lightsaber duels to come from The Clone Wars, but it’s also some really dark foreshadowing for Revenge of the Sith. Palpatine using this confrontation as a secret way to see if Anakin’s skills now outmatch his current apprentice’s is absolutely diabolical. Dooku almost didn’t make it Episode III with Anakin moving like that.

One of the smartest details from the Revenge of the Sith novelisation is how Obi-Wan and Anakin deceive Count Dooku. Knowing they had failed on Geonosis, they open the duel with basic attacks from Ataru and Shien, forms that Dooku’s Makashi easily dismantles. This convinces Dooku that he’s facing the same Jedi he defeated three years earlier. Then they switch. Obi-Wan returns to his impenetrable Soresu, while Anakin unleashes the refined Djem So he mastered during the Clone Wars. Dooku suddenly realizes the opening exchange was a ruse and that Anakin had surpassed power levels he thought were possible.

This scene from The Clone Wars where Anakin interrogates Poggle The Lesser has always been one of the most unexpectedly disturbing moments in the entire series IMO. Such a dark sequence, and one that It just goes to show that as much as Palpatine further pushed Anakin towards the Dark Side, it wasn't (and never was) 100% his decision to fully make. There was always a piece of Vader inside of Anakin Skywalker, and the brutality here absolutely shows it.

This scene from the Obi-Wan Kenobi series where a former 501st Clone Trooper begs Obi-Wan on a street for a few credits is honestly one of the most heartbreaking scenes from any recent Star Wars project. The fact that Obi-Wan still gave him credits just shows that The Jedi genuinely cared about The Clones more than Palpatine ever did. Deeply sad to watch.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith is where Ewan McGregor & Hayden Christensen should’ve ended their time in the Star Wars realm. Revenge of the Sith is an unbelievable film that holds up so well for so many reasons. It was the perfect note for these two to end on. I understand their passion to play Obi-Wan and Anakin, but Revenge of the Sith was the right time to step away.

I really love how the last time that Anakin and Obi-Wan have a lightsaber duel with Dooku, they also discover that he was the man named Tyranus that recruited Jango Fett to be cloned The Republic’s army. Not only is this confrontation the closest they’ve all been in terms of skill, but it also just goes to show how deeply manipulated both sides of The Clone Wars were. Have always loved this deleted scene from Revenge of the Sith where Padme and other concerned Senators directly confront Palpatine about his emergency powers and a way to potentially end the Clone Wars. Really puts into perspective how Padme was a founding member of The Rebellion, whereas Anakin looms behind Palpatine as democracy continues to fall. Palpatine telling Anakin that he believes Padme is hiding something also makes his eventual fall to the Dark Side even more emotionally complex. Wish this made the final cut of Episode III.

We really don’t talk enough about how Commander Thorn had one of the greatest final stands in not just The Clone Wars, but all of Star Wars. It’s rare that a side character receives such an iconic moment, but this scene has always been unforgettable in my opinion. Such an iconic scene.

It’s really cool that we got a glimpse of what Clone Trooper training was like on Kamino in the Republic Commando game from 2005. We’d get a further exploration of this in the 2008 Clone Wars series, but you literally get a first person view of what life was like for a clone from creation to deployment on Geonosis. Such an incredible experience. One of the best Star Wars games ever.

Hayden Christensen’s lightsaber skills didn’t just come back overnight when he returned as Anakin in Ahsoka. For Revenge of the Sith, Hayden arrived in Australia around three months before filming to prepare, training with fight choreographer Nick Gillard and Ewan McGregor for their lightsaber battles. Christensen has said they spent months preparing, and that the final Anakin vs. Obi-Wan duel was filmed over roughly two to two-and-a-half weeks. Rosario Dawson’s preparation for Ahsoka was just as serious. She trained for two hours a day, seven days a week for several months, learning to fight ambidextrously with Ahsoka’s two lightsabers. Some fight sequences then took 7–12 hour shooting days.

So much history between all of these characters quite literally converging in the most claustrophobic space imaginable. Such an amazing finale for Season 4 of The Clone Wars. Also really love how they all are using red lightsabers for a brief moment!

Although I understand why it didn’t make the final cut, this deleted scene from Attack of the Clones has always been super interesting to me. Really cool seeing droids in the Jedi Temple working purely for investigative purposes. Also makes Obi-Wan’s visit with Dexter Jettster a little less jarring.

I think this scene does a great job in highlighting the difference between Jedi and Sith philosophy Both Maul and Obi-wan by this point have basically lost everything, and Maul is incapable of moving on from the past and lives to get back at it While Obi-wan, ultimately accepted that what he had was gone and looks to the future, to protect others

There’s a lot of redemptions in Star Wars, but this moment from The Bad Batch where Crosshair ultimately decides to leave The Empire is still one of the most emotionally powerful ones IMO. Absolutely incredible storytelling, and some of the best character development that I’ve seen in any Star Wars project.

This moment where Luthen Rael destroys and escapes from an Imperial Acclamator in Season One of ANDOR is still one of the coolest things to happen in that entire series IMO. Not only does it show how clever and prepared Luthen really is, but it’s also a brief moment in such a serious show where the more pulpy side of Star Wars is able to shine through brilliantly.

Really love how Gennedy Tartakovsky chose a temple on Yavin IV as the prime location for Anakin’s lightsaber duel with Asajj Ventress in the 2003 Clone Wars micro-series. Not only is the animation nothing short of incredible, but I really love how a location that further pushed Anakin towards the Dark Side was the same one that, decades later, would be a defining moment for Luke’s journey in The Light.
