I’ve been posting about this notorious abandoned flour mill for a few years and how, it’s turned into a squatter house. This fire was inevitable.

I miss the Portland i grew up in.

someone was trying to fix that building up to put it to use and the city road blocked them. now it’s on fire.

Almost as if this is a part of a larger project to clean up the streets by developers, and they get to blame the homeless. Insurance wins, developers win. Yay

Yeah, there might be more to the story. Owned by Stuart Lindquist. Interesting thing is he acquired this building late 2024. By late 2025 he was the one with the approved redevelopment plans for apartments and retail. Now it's on fire. A total loss fire clears the physical obstacles a lot faster and cheaper than a controlled demolition.
