10 years ago my focus was growing “400 bushel corn” … it gets a lot of attention, but it’s unpractical. The laws of diminishing returns cost you more than it gains you. Today I focus on capturing more value from free things. Attributes are assets if you can employ them. We’re finishing up our relay beans with the last pass here. For you to be in the right frame of mind you have to leave the mindset of maximizing monocrop yields and instead maximizing acre yield efficiently. Each day is hyper critical in the profitability of this system… that’s why even when we reach that peak ultimate practice efficiency… we’ll still be maxed at maybe 30-40% of our acres. I can only do things great within the constraints of time. I lay out all the specifics here but this is some truths I’ve learned from chasing high yields.. to conventional… no till… strip till… relay… alley… organic… grazing … Intergrazing… silvopasture Less plants require less inputs, especially nitrogen Soil temperature and WEOC drive plant growth Weed pressures come with bare soil You can index… or reallocate anything from fertilizers, chemistry, seed, etc You can cheat any system by leaning on the constraints to make the system work best Here in this specific system Follow early corn. The attributes of corn canopy, residue, N scavenge is an asset Plant wheat early. Every day in late September is worth 10x of those in late October Control weeds in the fall cheaply with good timing before you have them Control weeds in the spring and summer with timing and expedited canopy closure A great harvest plan for the wheat and the pruning of it, the straw, and the ☀️ is 10x more effective than any soil amendment or spray fertilizer. Account for the capability of single plants. They can yield 10x of a bunch of them slammed in a field competing with one another Sequencing plants allows you to stage different plant perceptions to get expressions, let live, and use their natural death to your advantage.

It’s not about Blackrock, or CBDCs or the filthy broken fiat system - it’s about an alternative to that. A lot of people can point to many broken things in our world. And the root of what is broken is because of the broken money system. The money system is broken. There is death and destruction because of a broken money system and what this technology represents is something different than that. It’s an alternate to that. And that’s what makes it unique and that’s what makes it valuable.”

Societies that have allowed Jews to flourish—and there is no better example of this than the United States—are societies that have thrived and flourished, and that's because the same value system that Jews believe in, a value system of study, of service, of law, of justice, and of meritocracy above all else, is the same value system that we have found creates value, wealth, and flourishing in civilized societies. In 2018 I realized that I can grow higher yielding soybeans with wheat than without and just soybeans. I proved it to myself for 3 years straight growing 17 varieties of soybeans monocrop vs relay. While most people were worried about the junk combine I bought just to do it well… or a small head. I had my eyes on the prize. Using something of value as a tool to mitigate the main liabilities of soybean production. Weeds and water and the strain on the soil… from the lack of significant root mass with soybeans alone. There are a lot of analogies I use to describe different aspects of this but the main thing that always gets my attention wheather it’s this practice… or something like Stock Cropper For anything to be significantly better… and not just be another $10 investment to get another 3-5 bushels (we hope) You have to turn the attributes of something that will naturally just happen and figure out how to weaponize it. In other words just use it to your advantage That takes 1 very important step. You can’t give 1 once of fuck about what the industry BMP is for anything. You have to place things in the system in a way that allows the system to be better. Agronomy has to start in a garden scale where you’re not constrained by equipment spacing, traffic, etc. You can do some amazing things with your hands and your mind… then take that and figure out how to make the equipment and systems to scale. I watch so many universities do the same damn thing year after year. No revisions… you’re not innovating. Your hoping. Adapting, revising is the only path to success. You can’t just hope.

It is not too much to ask for a different kind of politics, where you look at your leaders in action and actually feel your blood pressure come down a little bit instead of going through the roof. That is a reasonable thing to expect of our leaders. It is not too much to ask. We can do this. Most of us already want this. So the obvious question is: Why hasn’t it happened? And that’s where we’ve got to talk about the system that we’re living with, which, by the way, as a politician, they kind of tell you not to do. Consultants say, “Look, no one’s going to get too fired up about the details of our democratic system when they’re just trying to keep their heads above water in this economy,” which I get, and to some extent I agree. But the reason that so many things are wrong with our economic picture is that so many things are wrong with our political system. And we’ve gotten so used to it, we can forget that there was a time when our political system was the pride of this nation. Wars have been fought for our system, starting with the first one—the one that launched 250 years ago with the Declaration of Independence, the one that gave this nation its being. The Founders risked their lives for a better political system. So don’t tell me it can’t stir people’s hearts. Don’t tell me that it’s not worth fighting for. Especially because until we do something to change our political system, we will continue to suffer from an economic system that lets us down: monopolies squeezing families and farmers on both ends; consumers and workers caught up in a system that can’t serve them; small businesses swamped by the big guys. Right now, what’s at stake is nothing less than the American dream. It is endangered.

Financial literacy in the education system in this country is a mess! It’s crazy. We should be teaching our kids about investing day one. You start by putting your money to work! Get it in the market, and learn all you can. One rule that has worked for me for the past 30 years of investing is the rule of diversification. What is 2nd order thinking? It’s considering the reactions of your actions. Relay cropping is done wrong 100% of the time when 2nd order thinking isn’t considered. Plant wheat at 25% population in wider blocks and retain more soybean yield… with SIGNIFICANTLY less costs. That’s the whole point. If you want to glitch the minds of folks saying that wheat is cheap… agree with them. Right now with our seed costs… and low amounts of fertility we’re sitting at $40/ac. If I can cut $150-$200/ac in wheat crop costs by doing everything agronomically sound, planting early, and intentional I can give up 30-40 bu/ac and be in the same economic position. The difference is the soybean crop has $300-$400 more profitable potential from yield and weed control.
