i've been using minimax h3 max to make interactive games you control! all the decisions are up to you, and since the model is so fast there's basically no delays

try it out here! You can pick from many templates, or create your own completely new one:

This feels familiar.....I remember when a disc based game was fast enough to pull up different scenes in nearly real time as the game played out.

woah are you pre-generating all the options before the decision is made?

Profilbild von Blendi
Blendivor 2 Monaten

yeah its a way to up the speed in advance lol, at least for the pre-done options

as opposed to interactive games you don't control

@iamrobotbear Very cool. Wonder what it would feel like to time the options showing up 2-3 seconds earlier so there is no pause and you could click the next step before the current one finishes

The game looks fun until you realize the final boss is the token bill. 💀😂

nice! one trick, show the next action prompt ~1.5sec. before the end of the actual clip. so you once they make the selection, you can play the rest of that, and start the new one which you will have by then

Wow, looking great. One improvement I would make is that it does not just stop when a decision is there, but to generate during the decision, e.g. he stops in front of the tower and stands there, maybe looking left and right, then the decision and he moves again.

Love it! Working on something similar but for a Twitch-based choose-your-own-adventure film. The benefit of Twitch: low costs as 1-time generations are enough even with 10,000s of users. (Though "low" is still a few 1000 bucks a day right now.)

Interactive stories for kids is gonna get next level

Imagine this at GTA 6 fidelity, generating frames in real time and reacting directly to controller inputs. Feed it your full Witcher 3 playthrough—video + inputs—and it could learn the world, mechanics and story, then let your version of the game continue forever.

nice :) it will be cool to show the three options opening up simultaneously -> then you can continue to open and visualize the entire tree

Any tips to use minimax api without spending a fortune?

you should try our new h3 max turbo models, much more cost-efficient:

cool stuff! now if that could get layered somehow, you'd have not only visual novels (which this kinda is?), but also a generated point and click adventures / hidden object games which are always popular

This is cool, been working on something similar but with movie clips. Choose what happens next. The API costs are crushing tho so not exactly viable. But fun for a demo.

how are you feeding the player decisions back in - fresh prompt per turn or does it keep the game state in context?

Cool. Do you feed only the last frame and create a new image to video each time? This would explain why the window is transformed into a door. Maybe you could try feeding the last few seconds, this will improve consistency at the cost of shorter generations.
