I’ve been working on the sand erosion physics for my sand castle building game. Still needs some tuning, but it’s starting to behave the way I want. Wishlist Sandcastle ➡️

please make this mode too ! dark sand beach are beautiful too !

100% agree! I would like to add a menu were you can customize the beach and choose the colors of the sand from a palette.

Ooooh this looks extremely aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. Maybe a couple of curious little fishes that comes and go would add to the peaceful vibe of the beach 🥰

Yes, next on my todo list!

My stress level goes down each time I see this game 🪣 Aesthetic is flawless…the waves are peaceful! Silly feature ideas… -Any thoughts about a soundtrack/score? - Could add a boombox with a few different stations to play your own Spotify playlist?

Glad to hear that! I've added a old school radio that you can place on the beach, with different channels broadcasting various style of music! I like the idea of connecting to streaming platforms as well!

Hell yeah! 👏👏👏

you should add the ability to plant sea grass in front of parts to slow down erosion.

Good idea! For now, the presence of vegetation doesn't have an impact on the erosion, but that's doable, I think

is your aim for more of a casual relaxing game where you just build stuff? or is there a goal/story to go along with it? other people said it but this would be a fantastic mechanic for a tower defense game.

For now, my goal is casual relaxing sandboxing game. But I did a few tests leaning towards tower defense, and there's definitely something interesting to do here...

i can see little toy boats/fish washing up, bumping into the castle in an attempt to knock it down. instead of "fighting" your job is to just deflect incoming objects. just what came into my had. but it looks super cute as is! already wish listed it.

Thank you!

this looks so fun dude!

Thanks! It's fun to work on as well :)

In the real world it would be completely gone in two waves.

True! I volunterally slowed the process down. Maybe too much? It's a balance I need to find depending on the feedback I'll get from play tests.

No I don’t think it’s bad. I don’t think most video games would be fun with hyper realism. Imagine if in call of duty you got shot in the leg and couldn’t stim but had to go spend a week in the hospital then 6 months in physical therapy and then still have a limp afterwards?

this looks amazing. i'd play this all day

If there was ever a way to make this integrate able with twitch chat and they can place the pieces down collectively, it would be great for long marathon streams to watch how the castle survives!

Interesting idea.. How would the community interact with the game? Like simple text commands?

Or a twitch extension for more control? But yes twitch commands could allow for randomly generated placement and items

Ah, I wasn't aware of Twitch extensions! That could be cool, yes :)

this is beyond cool

such a cool Zen Garden game. great job

I made something similar with threejs

Did you get rid of the trumpet sound when you build a castle, or does it still play when you complete objectives? (...because I'm kind of glad it's gone...)🤫

Yes! I completely agreed with the general concensus that it wasn't a good fit for the mood of the game 😀

Wow

I have the impression that it is not destructive enough. There is a real pleasure in watching something being destroyed little by little. Congratulations tho, the game looks amazing and I really love the design, I will surely buy it instantly !

Yes, my feeling too. On the other hand, you also want your sand masterpiece to last for a little while. I'll have to find the right balance. I feel like I'm not quite there yet. But at this point, that's easily adjustable!

Any way you’d be able to release it with workshop support so people could add materials? I’d love to see this engine used as like a DanBall powder game with tons of different things like clay, wood, fuses, fire, etc

That's something I'd like to integrate, yes!

this is looking so cool. the shallow water seems a little bit too blue but maybe that’s a stylistic thing. i’m excited to give this a go and while away the hours on a flight, great idea!

Interesting game concept. Keep it up

If you can make it so that you can sculpt things that will be awesome

Ahhh it keeps getting better

That is really clever! I love that uniqueness of the idea. Keep doing cool stuff.

Waiting for the yellow bulldozer to make its debut

Dude, this looks awesome!

This is a genius idea! And looks super nice!

Is this a simulation game or do you have plans for some kind of tower defense strategy? I like the concept of eroding towers that still get raiding by crabs and sand worms.

this looks great. the erosion timing sells the material really well and makes the whole system feel tactile.

This is looking fantastic. I wonder if there will be rogue waves and stray dogs that crash through the beaches...

👀💫

This is super cool, wishlisted it! You could do a lot of cool things with these tools/mechanics.

Thanks!

Nostalgia is hitting hard with this one. Looks beautiful too! Wishlisted.

Beautiful work

UI looks really good!

I love everything I've seen about this game fantastic work; can't wait to check it out once it's released!

Thank you!

WWWow! looks really cool and unique. okay that sounded very bot like behavior. how can I say it: that is my genuine reaction :D

just release it already

I still need to add a bit more of content :D Cool new features are on their way!

there will always be more content to add and new features
