Had to give this its own post. Excuse me while I ramble … Been thinking a lot about what Jamie Lee Curtis asked - what does it mean to me to be respected in my line of work? Honestly? I’m shocked I was able to keep it together on the spot to give a coherent response that I actually feel pretty good about but now that I’ve had more time to sit with it - being respected means everything because I know the work I’m putting out is truly me. It took me time to find my voice in this space and to pinpoint what I wanted to bring to it. When I found it, I didn’t let it go. There’s endless pressure nudging journalists in one direction or another, and yes, we all have to evolve and adapt a bit, but when I figured out the key values that were guiding my compass most, those became a non-negotiable guiding light. So the idea of being respected really does mean the world because I’m just being myself, doing work I genuinely love and take great pride in.

NI-KI career advice to ENGENE 🥹🫳🏻 💬: now i really have to decide on a career, but i don’t even know what I like or what I’m good at. they say choosing a career makes the future easier are there any tips for finding a career? 🐥: life isn’t easy for anyone. for me, rather than a tip, one thing i think is important is to have areas where you can grow as a person. thats how you can learn and develop. 🐥: my personality is really all or nothing 100 or 0. so if i want to do something, i go all the way until it’s perfect, and if i don’t want to, i have no interest at all. thats been true since i was young. so if i become interested in something, i’ll pursue it until i get tired of it. 🐥: for example, if someone likes fashion, they’ll learn more and study more about it. thats how you can find what suits you. now that there’s time, for example, if you’ve been doing sports since childhood, maybe you’ll want to become a coach later. just think of it comfortably. whatever happens, it’ll work out. 💬: should you do what you want or what you’re good at? 🐥: its really the same thing, if you like it, you’ll naturally become good at it. that gives you an edge over others. so if you like something, you’ll do it as much as you like, and eventually, you’ll become good at it.

👤 I’m curious about how you see the world. your weverse posts show such a beautiful soul. and i want to live like that too. 🐶 In the end, I think the world I see is one where nothing really lasts. As time passes, even my own notes keep changing. When I die, the money I earned becomes meaningless. There might be people who remember my name, but that won’t last forever either. So what I believe is that what truly remains in this world..what stays in the universe, is the energy I give to it. Once that energy is released into the world, it’s just out there, like dust, existing somewhere in the universe forever. Because I think energy matters deeply. Your energy can be destructive, or it can be good. So just be good energy. Give good things to the world. Because that’s the only thing that lasts. And your life is part of that energy. That’s the only thing that is forever.

Here’s Marc Andreessen’s advice from 2016: “If I’m 22 again, I think what I do is I go try to find the company in the Valley that’s growing the fastest, has a really good culture, and a really good foundation for training. An example of that would be an Airbnb, but there are many others. I would go plant myself at a company where I can really learn. I spend my time working my butt off so that I can establish a good reputation so that when people reference check me, I reference check well. But I also spend that time thinking and I really critically spend that time building my network and finding people I know I want to work with down the road. And then I either come up with an idea or I don’t.” He also gives advice for people just enrolling in college: “If I was 18 and going to college right now, I would do computer science again in a heartbeat. And then I would either focus on: #1 distributed systems and the broad domain of cryptocurrency; #2 AI & machine learning; or #3 intersection of biology and computer science—so genomics and synthetic biology. The best one will get you there in 15 minutes, the worst one will get you there in half an hour… Or the best cook and the worst cook, maybe it’s 3-to-1… But in the field that I’m in. In software in particular. The difference between the best person and the worst person is about 100-to-1 or more.” He continues: “The difference between a good software person and a great software person is probably 50-to-1 or 25-to-1. Huge dynamic range. I’m recording this about 17 minutes before I hop on a zoom call so what’s your watching here? It’s a lot of what you’re watching. I think most importantly what you’re seeing is me having a good time and enjoying myself I’ve been really paying attention to that you know I can be so formulated formulaic strategic just because of you know the muscle memory of being an artist and a professional that sometimes I forget to you know, laughing and have a good time so the top of the year has been very consistent. You know we talked about the optimism you have come January 1 here we are in March. I’m not sure the date but we’re in March now almost in the first quarter and I’ve been working every single day. I’ve been living every single day but two weeks ago I got sick and I don’t know if it was allergies or whatever or something that was just going around because a few of my collaborators also was out and are still out to this to this day but everyone’s good everyone’s getting rest but that break really jolted me and scared me just how when I take the weekends off to go and live I always have this thought of when I go back on Monday do I still have it? Am I still in that mode that I’ve been feeling? the answer to that question is yes and I say that to say there’s this Producer, who I found on TikTok just because I love keeping my ear to the streets. It’s not good on the back and you shouldn’t keep your ear to the street for too long because it’ll make your back hurt, but it’s worth the pain. We had a very strong week I had a very exciting week of being outside and just being with friends and loved ones Lotta late nights but we make sure we still get up in the morning and hit our 3 mile run or our leg days, upper body or full body . The weekends are usually my time to rest and live, but I’m recording live now from the studio excited and ready to play and Jam just because I genuinely love what I do there’s a lot That’s about to happen in a great way actually coming up this week and I’m excited for that but I’m even more excited to have a great time and just have a blast I’m so thankful I’m so present. I’m recording this about 17 minutes before I hop on a zoom call so what’s your watching here? It’s a lot of what you’re watching. I think most importantly what you’re seeing is me having a good time and enjoying myself I’ve been really paying attention to that you know I can be so formulated formulaic strategic just because of you know the muscle memory of being an artist and a professional that sometimes I forget to you know, laughing and have a good time so the top of the year has been very consistent. You know we talked about the optimism you have come January 1 here we are in March. I’m not sure the date but we’re in March now almost in the first quarter and I’ve been working every single day. I’ve been living every single day but two weeks ago I got sick and I don’t know if it was allergies or whatever or something that was just going around because a few of my collaborators also was out and are still out to this to this day but everyone’s good everyone’s getting rest but that break really jolted me and scared me just how when I take the weekends off to go and live I always have this thought of when I go back on Monday do I still have it? Am I still in that mode that I’ve been feeling? the answer to that question is yes and I say that to say there’s this Producer, who I found on TikTok just because I love keeping my ear to the streets. The most important thing I learned tracking my food the last 3 or so months is I had NO idea what a serving was. Tracking calories and my meals has taught me that I can still enjoy good food, I just don't need to eat all of it.
