I’ve made a little AI copilot for Origami Studio. Think of it as a tiny code editor that sits on top of Origami's canvas and lets you generate patches using GPT-4 – all within the same surface. It’s a native macOS app and you can get it here:

In my day-to-day prototyping I use it mostly to create little utility patches and ‘jigs’ for all sorts of things (transforms, validate strings, randomize this and that etc.) Just describing the desired inputs and outputs of a patch helps a lot – it makes you break down the logic of a prototype and is almost as useful as generating the patch itself.

When designing the app icon I learned about ‘crease patterns’ – structural representations of intricate origami folds. The app icon shows the crease pattern for an Origami Crane – a nod to Origami Studio’s original app icon.

Reviewing AI-generated code is the new bottleneck. Writing code was slow before. Now, in a few minutes, you can generate virtually unlimited lines of code using AI. But developers are now spending 70% of their time checking that code. That's the new bottleneck. I've been using Cline, and they have a feature that actually helps with this: You can click a button and have Cline generate an inline explanation for every single line of AI-generated code. Take a look at the attached video. What it does: 1. You can read the code and the explanation together 2. You don't lose context while reviewing code 3. You understand the "why" behind each change And here is the best part: It works on any git diff. You can use it to review PRs, understand commits from other people, or catch up on a codebase you haven't touched in a while.

This is it, native PCVR on MacOS! The OpenXR SDK can be compiled on MacOS, So I implemented a runtime and a streaming app. Godot supports OpenXR on MacOS so I use it to test my integration. Unity could work too and of course native C++. 1/x

It's called Copilot Studio and lets you connect Copilot (=ChatGPT) to your data sources. Like ChatGPT, you can share them but also manage user controls and analytics. Copilot Studio is available with Copilot for Microsoft 365 as a preview.
