In 1972, Uganda's dictator Idi Amin ordered Indians to leave Uganda because he thought Indians had too much economic power and they were fooling native people of Uganda. 80000 Indians were asked to leave Uganda but with only $120 and 220 kg of property. Everything else was confiscated by Ugandan Govt. Soon, Ugandan economy collapsed. Idi Amin was thrown out of power in 1979. After that Ugandans invited back Indians. In 2024, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni said expulsion of Indians from Uganda by Idi Amin was a mistake and he also asked Indians to return back. Similar scenes will be observed in USA.

It has now been 12 months since I began my posting as Australia’s Ambassador to the UAE and it has been a tremendous experience. Our team is thrilled with all that we have achieved so far with our Emirati partners, including the negotiation and signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. We are looking forward to taking the bilateral relationship to new heights as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Australia’s diplomatic relationship with the UAE in 2025. This video provides a snapshot of the year in review.

Pete Hegseth: The first air assault I ever did leading a platoon in Baghdad in the middle of the night. We had 36 hours to prepare and I spent every minute of those 36 hours preparing. When the pilots dropped us a few hundred meters in the wrong spot in the middle of a mud field and the GPS didn't work. There was one man that platoon was looking at, and it was me.

I hosted H.E Vladlen Semivolos, the outgoing Russian ambassador to Uganda, at State House Entebbe today. I congratulated him on completing his tour of duty and praised his efforts in ensuring the continued warmth and cooperation between our countries and peoples. I wish him success in his future endeavors. Later, H.E Virginie Leroy, the French Ambassador to Uganda called on me to deliver a message and an invitation from H.E Emmanuel Macron for the upcoming France - Africa summit in Nairobi next month, with Uganda participating. I also met H.E Lisa Chesney, the British High Commissioner, to discuss economic opportunities between Uganda and the UK, and various export financing projects. We aim to expand collaboration on business and growth.

Now they're just riding their little tricycles around in the Oval Office doing whatever comes to mind. And it's not working. Meanwhile, everyday Americans are looking at these grocery prices — and they're looking at a president with a golden ballroom with a golden toilet who is gallivanting all over the world. And I think Trump’s team has lost the plot. When people are in love with somebody and they fall out of love, it's hard to fall back in love. A bunch of farmers were in love with Trump.
