Hello, everyone. Our team in Kharkiv needs your help in delivering engineering equipment (excavators) and protecting our Bohdana howitzers. Our team embarked on a trip to design and build additional protection Bohdanas... for the Ukrainian 47th artillery brigade, but unfortunately, russians invaded before we could start our work. While we were waiting to commence, we lost three Bohdana howitzers in Kharkiv. I can't invent a time machine, but I can work on saving what's left. However, I need your help. I am asking for your help by donating or sharing, liking and commenting on this post. New equipment such as this costs 140,000$ per machine. We are buying them for 20k-30k repairing for 10k and with logistics average cost of the 7 ton excavator is around 30-40k USD. This is 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of the new machine, and after the repairs it's ready to work for another 3-4 years. Now, why are these machines so important? My brother, vaycartana, has been running it for more than 20 years. Why are small excavators so important for the infantry? I spoke with an infantry battalion commander from one of the assault brigades to better understand this. Please read quotes from him: ▶️ "Our brigade has one or two PZM2 trenchers, and they are always either broken or in use. We lack the manpower to build proper fortifications, and the infantry often ends up not digging deep and long enough trenches because they are exhausted from endless combat and shelling. I can't afford to have them in a trench for six days and then digging another trench for six more days; they need to rest." ▶️ I asked if they would be able to dig the fortifications when enemy FPVs fly by: "Now is the perfect time for that, because of the greenery, we can relatively safely build trenches inside the treelines 2-5 km away from the frontline. If we have a small 2-8 ton excavator, it can discreetly operate inside the treeline without breaking all the trees. It’s mobile and easy to use. Yes, we will have a risk of delivering it quickly enough to the treeline and back, but I'd rather risk it driving in the open for 15 minutes than having my infantry stuck in knee-deep trenches without proper ceiling layering with three layers of logs." ▶️ "They save the lives of our infantry. Yesterday, I launched a new fundraiser to send two more excavators to Ukraine. Unfortunately, due to declining interest in the topic, the fundraiser didn’t go quite as planned, but we still raised $16,000 (our usual goal for the first day is 20% of the total or 24k). So overall, we did well. Today, I want to show you the work of our repair shop in Kharkiv. This excavator was purchased for $18,000, even though its market value is around $60,000. It does need repairs, but thankfully, vaycartana, our lead technician, knows exactly what he’s doing. The machine should be up and running in two weeks. Thursday, the 28th November is Thanksgiving day in the U S A. Families will come together and celebrate the harvest and all the blessings of the year. It's also the time of year when people donate to charity and we wonder if any of our friends will remember the work that Ernestos does for the animals in war torn Syria? We have just had one of our worst months for fundraising, with the lowest donations we have seen for a long time. A little gift from our supporters means everything to our animals and to the lives of the 100s of animals we treat and help every day of the year. We want to continue to be there for them. To help as we have helped for the past 9 years. But first, we must make it through the winter months. Will you help us? We need fuel, we need food,we need medicines. But most of all, we need your kindness and your belief in what we do.
