❄️ One thing that’s NOT being talked about enough: Snow Ratios with this Storm could be WAY higher than 10:1, meaning there's a chance our Storm OVERPERFORMS A normal storm is around 10:1 (10 inches of snow from 1 inch of liquid). But when Arctic air is in place, snowflakes grow lighter, fluffier, and more efficient, and ratios SKYROCKET. On Saturday evening a CAT Deputy who also happens be a Motor Deputy stopped this moped with no plates driving through the snow. The driver works in West Omaha and lives in near Carter Lake. Deputies warned him of the dangers driving his moped on snow packed roads and he agreed but added the moped is his only mode of transportation to work. The driver was given a warning for no proof of ownership and sent on his way home. We all want to make it to work and provide for our families, and it’s hard not to feel for someone who has no other way to get there. While it's not illegal, a two wheeled vehicle on snow-packed roads is very dangerous.

Changed it over to the high-resolution (3km) GRAF simulations for the remainder of the night here. Here is how much more snow the model os showing for the remainder of the night (through 6am Monday). Based on ground reports certainly seems like those outside the banding are coming in on the lower end. So far 0.56" of liquid reported at DCA today, that would have been 5.6" of snow under ideal conditions today had this been all snow!

Tonight a plow came and removed all the snow that another plow had pushed onto the sidewalk days ago making it too narrow for wheelchairs or strollers. It looks like they moved it all to the centre of the road. Not sure why they didn't put it there in the first place to save time and money. But it means for tomorrow for the 1st time in 12 days we can go to places like the pharmacy or the butcher! If it doesn't snow too much tonight, that is. Im not sure if all the barking helped but it definitely raises awareness.
