👀 J. Cole / “Lil Cole” Texts Spark New Speculation I recently received a text message from someone identifying as “Lil Cole.” 🧠 Context Matters For those who might not know, Lil Cole is an alter ego J. Cole introduced years ago. For added context, I included a few... clips where J. Cole originally introduced us to Lil Cole, showing how this character has existed in his music and storytelling for a long time. Lil Cole has appeared or been referenced on tracks like: •“Brackets” (KOD) •Dollar and a Dream II •Other records following the KOD era 📲 Why This Is Interesting Now •These texts reportedly started after J. Cole announced the release date for his upcoming album The Fall Off •The messages are labeled as coming from Lil Cole, not J. Cole or Dreamville • But The Number is a 910 area code which is known as an Fayetteville North Carolina area code 👀 🤔 What Fans Are Theorizing •Lil Cole could return as a conceptual voice or alter ego presence on the album •Possible “feature” credited to Lil Cole, symbolizing inner dialogue or reflection •A creative rollout leading into what’s expected to be J. Cole’s final album 🎤 The Big Question Is Lil Cole about to make an official appearance on The Fall Off, or is this just part of a deeper narrative rollout? 👀 Either way, this feels intentional.show more

DJ Akademiks says he "won't tolerate" J. Cole dissing anyone on his upcoming album "The Fall Off" 👀 "This n***a just showed us everything he was saying about his confidence, his bravado, his attention to how he looked at music and rapping: It was cap." "If J. Cole disses anybody on this album, J. Cole is a b*tch. We don't want J. Cole to diss nobody. J. Cole needs to rap about mental health or some sh*t like that."

Lil Pump continues his long-running tension with J. Cole, calling the Dreamville rapper an “embarrassment to rap” and claiming Cole left a Miami club after DJs played Lil Pump’s music. Pump later escalated the situation further by posting a photo of J. Cole’s wife on social media and comparing her to Mrs. Potato Head, adding another layer to their already public feud. Their issues date back to 2017, when Pump previewed a track titled “F**k J. Cole.” Things escalated in 2018 after Cole released “1985 (Intro to The Fall Off)” on KOD, a song widely perceived as commentary on the new wave of rappers, including Pump. The back-and-forth ultimately led to a face-to-face sit-down in May 2018.

AB-Soul & Talib Kweli SPEAK on J. Cole: “Cole has a great song about this on his album [The Fall-Off] and it was so profound to me. A lot of my peers like to be incognito & avoid the attention but Sometimes it can help.” Talib Kweli Adds, “J. Cole has mentioned me in two of his biggest records. Which I feel helps me as an artist. Whatever he got from me he paid it forward.”

Joe Budden once said THIS about J. Cole: “J. Cole has success and low visibility.. You only hear from him when it’s time to.” Media tried so hard to convince everyone The Fall-Off came and went… just because Cole refuses to be a slave to the algorithm. Now he’s back outside selling out arenas, fans are going bar for bar & the album just re-entered Billboard for a 19th week Cole F’n World 🌎🐐

J. Cole just explained how The Fall-Off is his last album in “J. Cole’s story” but he very much might drop more singles, features, and albums outside of “J. Cole’s story” ⬇️ “If you hear the progression from The Come Up, The Warm Up, Friday Night Lights, Sideline Story, Born Sinner, Forest Hills Drive… Those, then going into The Fall-Off, it’s a progression of my whole life.” “To me, 4 Your Eyez Only, KOD, The Off-Season, and Might Delete Later, those are side quests. 4 Your Eyez Only and KOD, those are concepts. The Off-Season and Might Delete Later, those are practice to get to The Fall Off, which is the continuation of J. Cole’s story. Jermaine’s life story in the form of this J. Cole character.” “I took you to the end. I don’t have anything else to say as Jermaine via J. Cole. Ima rap probably, I’ll hop on a song probably, I might even f**k around if I feel inspired enough and do an album, but I don’t care to continue that story.”

👀 J. Cole’s “The Inevitable” Outro Has Me Reading Between the Lines In the outro of J. Cole’s new song “The Inevitable,” the beat switches to a sample of Mobb Deep’s “Drop a Gem On ’Em.” J Cole starts flowing over it. For context, “Drop a Gem On ’Em” was a diss track aimed at 2Pac, which immediately raised my eyebrows cause I knew it was a sample but couldn’t think which song it was from through research I found out the instrumental. 🎧 Why This Sample Feels Intentional • Mobb Deep’s track is tied to one of hip hop’s most iconic beefs • J. Cole rarely uses samples without purpose • The beat change happens specifically in the outro, where messaging often matters most 🤔 Possible Interpretations 1️⃣ A Subtle Message to Kendrick Lamar I’m wondering if this is aimed at Kendrick Lamar, who has been acting like he is 2Pac Reincarnated. If so, using a beat tied to a 2Pac diss could be symbolic rather than direct. 2️⃣ Context From “Euphoria” Kendrick previously sent shots at both Drake and Cole on “Euphoria,” rapping: “It’s three GOATs left, and I seen two of them kissin and huggin on stage I love ’em to death, and in eight bars, I’ll explain that phrase Cole and Aubrey know I’m a selfish nigga, the crown is heavy I pray they my real friends, if not I’m YNW Melly…” That line alone put Cole’s name in the conversation.. it definitely show being sent his way insinuating if you think you ready to to put the friendship aside and battle he’s ready to take you out. With that being said could this be J Cole responding? 3️⃣ Or Is J Cole Just Paying Homage On the flip side • J. Cole is a known student of hip hop history • Mobb Deep are legends • The sample could simply be respect and homage not smoke or is it? 🤔 🎤 The Question Was this intentional symbolism a quiet response or pure homage to Mobb Deep 🤔 Knowing Cole’s work, nothing feels accidental.

Let’s get to the facts Baby D 🍼 There is no way Drake’s fans are going to set here and let you get this bs off! You being a Cole fan and me being a Drake fan I’m calling your weird tactics out. How dare you say Drake didn’t help J Cole and that they only had a business relationship… what you won’t get to do is pretend like Drake didn’t have a big impact on Cole’s career! Drake famously bought copies of J. Cole's Born Sinner album at Best Buy to support him early in their careers. Drake bought J. Cole a yellow gold Rolex Day-Date Presidential, which J. Cole confirmed in his 2019 song "Middle Child". In the lyrics, J. Cole mentions, "Just put the Rollie right back on my wrist, this watch came from Drizzy he gave me a gift”. They've made music together on tracks like "First Person Shooter" and "Jodeci Freestyle". They've surprised fans by appearing at each other's shows and tours, including Dreamville Fest. Drake has called Cole his "brother" and one of the greatest artists, while Cole expresses deep appreciation for Drake's help in his career. During the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud, J. Cole initially sided with Drake but later withdrew, leading to speculation. In his song "Port Antonio," Cole clarified his stance, stating he didn't want conflict and acknowledged Drake's significant role in his career. I have attached articles and screenshots seeing that you are oblivious of the friendship between Drake and J Cole!

🦂 Akademiks goes OFF on J. Cole’s upcoming album Ak was live debating the impact of a new J. Cole album and he made one thing clear: 👉 Cole better NOT be talking tough or dissing anyone. 🎯 Ak’s Main Take •After dropping a Kendrick diss, deleting it, and publicly apologizing, Ak says Cole lost all credibility in rap battles. •If Cole comes back saying “I’m still the best” or sneak dissing anyone, Ak says it’s unacceptable. “You can’t diss, delete, apologize… then act like Muhammad Ali.” 📉 “Fall From Grace” •Ak says Cole “fell from grace” the moment he bowed out. •Calls The Fall Off title ironic because to him, Cole already fell off in terms of competitive rap energy. •Says Cole went from “I’m him” to backtracking under pressure. 🧠 What Ak Thinks Cole SHOULD Rap About •❌ No disses •❌ No “best rapper alive” talk •✅ Mental health •✅ Introspection •✅ Vibes / lyrical rap “Rap about rain, daisies, sunshine… but don’t claim the throne.” 🥊 Rap Skill vs Conviction •Ak admits Cole is still a great rapper technically. •But says rap battles require conviction, not just bars. •Comparing Cole to Bronny James: talented, but doesn’t have “that dog.” 🏆 Top 3 Debate •Ak says Cole is no longer Top 3 after Drake & Kendrick. •Claims Future has more standing right now because he doesn’t fold. •Says legacy wise, this moment hurt Cole permanently. ⚠️ Final Verdict •If Cole drops heat without dissing, Ak will listen. •If Cole sneak disses or talks tough? 👉 “I’m turning it off.” 🗣️ “You can’t talk tough after your chain got snatched. Go get it back first.”

Cam'ron is reportedly suing J. Cole for failing to return the favor after Killa hopped on Cole's "Ready '24" track last year. On Tuesday (Oct. 28), TMZ broke the news that Cam has filed a lawsuit against the Dreamville head honcho. The Harlem, N.Y., rapper claims he and Cole agreed that if Cam appeared on the Might Delete Later track "Ready '24," Cole would hop on a Cam track or appear on the It Is What It Is podcast. The song was recorded in 2022, and Cam says that since then, Cole has been claiming he's too busy to return the favor. So, Cam'ron has decided to take it to the courts. Cam says he hasn't been paid for the collab. He wants a judge to force Cole to make Cam the co-author of the track and compensate him in excess of $500,000. XXL has reached out to J. Cole's team for comment.

J. Cole said THIS to Alicia Keys: “The fulfillment of a hit record isn’t the same for me anymore.” this was in the Bahamas in 2021. Important to note: Cole has not marketed a single post release since “Middle Child” & despite that record being 7X Platinum, he did not add it to one of his solo albums to boost album sales/chase charts. Cole is one of the few who truly doesn’t give a F*** about industry awards/practices.
