The guy acts like a moron because that's the preferred behavior of the internet. BUT he is not wrong. Land is insanely CHEAP in the US(for big chunks). You don't have to build right away but grabbing a chunk of land now & holding on to it until you're ready is never a bad idea.

He actually made a really, really bad investment. I understand his idea, as myself and my family have thought the same. Buy a bunch of land and build each member of the family a home. Like a little private neighborhood. 2m for 2.5 acres of raw land is a ripoff. Does it have an ocean view or something? Resources? Water? Oil? He needs to take a minute to explain to us how it is worth what he spent. He is correct about it being a better investment than a car. But that is it. Here is a 10acre lot for 1.5m. Has a house and a "lake" or pond.
