The last sentence hurts "now there is one wreck lying next to another...for the same damn reason"

Arrogance is what brought the Titanic and the Titan submersible to its tragic demise.

Best summary & explanation I've heard so far. My first impression was implosion & I didnt even have all the insights. We're left with the questions of why they didn't come forth with the loud bang before all the efforts were made? & What were those timed clangs?

Seems like they wanted the search and rescue and press/publicity practice, didn't care that they were jerking everyone around 🤨

Phew...the part about one wreck now lying next to another wreck, for the same entirely preventable reason of basic oversight of critical controls, has my heart thousands of feet down too... 💔

Material fail over time, cyclic failure, fatigue failure what a knowledge he has. I think he is the most knowledgeable director I have ever seen.👍👍

JC has dived and seen SO many times and can speak from one who knows how these machines must be built, regardless of whether for pleasure or business in order to be failsafe. This was the equivalent to a very expensive Russian Roulette.

Elongating the cabin space in a submersible increases pressure loads in the midsections, which increases fatigue and delamination loads. Furthermore, the Titan's 5” thick (12.7 cm) hull had been subjected to repeated stress over the course of about two dozen previous dives

Wonderful, hollywood director talking about FEM. So, impressive !! Bollywood must learn that science and art are intertwined.
