Jason Avant explains how this Eagles defense can slow down this high powered Rams offense. "The Eagles have already played the hardest team to guard in the National Football League, the Bears. They're constantly moving, trying to trick the eyes of the linebackers and the safeties. The Rams are...

This is why I'm picking the San Francisco 49ers to BEAT the Los Angeles Rams in week 1... - Having traveled to Australia multiple times, I think the Niners plan of attack getting there a week early and acclimating with the time change is more beneficial than what the Rams are doing. - The Rams defense has a bunch of studs and I like how they rebuilt their secondary, but are we expecting them to be elite right from the jump with so many new pieces against Kyle Shanahan? - The middle of the field I think can be exposed vs. Rams - Super Bowl favorites and a stacked team doesn't automatically mean the Rams are going to dominate everybody. 20 Super Bowl contenders the last 30 years have been +500 odds or better to win a ring. None of them have. - Rams have a star-studded team, but so do the Niners. #49ers

The Rams are the biggest threat to the Eagles. If they can play up to their potential, no one is going to want to see this team. ▪️Top 5 QB ▪️Best Quartet in Football (Stafford, Puka, Davante Adams, Kyren Williams) ▪️One of Best Young Defensive Cores ▪️SB Winning Coach

"This defense is by far the best and most intimidating defense in league. Because of this defense, [the Eagles] are definitely the best team." Skip Bayless praises the Eagles defense for keeping them competitive and winning games.

🚨REACTION: The Philadelphia Eagles will host the San Francisco 49ers in the Wild Card round next weekend. My initial thoughts on this matchup: When you look at the trenches, the Eagles have a big edge. Eagles OL > 49ers DL Eagles DL > 49ers OL The 49ers offense was exposed by the Seahawks defense last night. Seattle is long, athletic, fast and physical. The Eagles defense is as well. Since week 8, the Eagles are giving up around 14.5 PPG, which is first in the league. I worry about how the Niners can hold up in the trenches, in addition to them not being able to threaten the Eagles defense down the field. Defensively, the 49ers run defense is not good and they can’t get after the QB. That could serve as the perfect recipe the Eagles need to get the offense going. The Eagles should win: they have more talent, they’re at home, and have the rest advantage but I think this game will be a dogfight.

🚨REPORT: The Los Angeles Rams are interested in trading for Eagles WR AJ Brown. Howie Roseman should ask the Rams they’re willing to include Puka Nacua in the trade. Nacua is extension eligible and if the Rams don’t want to sign him to a long-term deal, would a WR swap make sense? The Eagles could extend Nacua to create some cap space in the short-term. Also valuable: The Rams gave up their OWN pick in the Trent McDuffie trade. What if they offer the Eagles the 13th overall pick Los Angeles got from the Falcons? Howie Roseman could have some options here. #Eagles

Biggest positive for me was Riq Woolen and Quinyon Mitchell vs Puka Nacua and DaVante Adams. They had a few catches off pushoffs, but other than that shut them down. Health of Quinyon is massive. The duo is the best in the league. #Eagles

lesean mccoy says regardless of what happens to Puka Nacua and the female who’s suing him because of the bite. He’s going to get paid top dollars by the rams and if they don’t pay him another team will. This NFL is all about results and how good you are

Eagles/Rams 2001 NFC Championship: The 2001 Eagles were that seasons feel good story, going from 5 wins two years earlier to their first NFC title game since 1980 as they were facing a 14-2 Rams team fresh off a recent Super Bowl win. Few gave Philly a chance, but the Eagles controlled much of the game and even led at halftime after a last minute McNabb to Pinkston TD. Then Marshall Faulk took over. Two 1 yard 2nd half TDs swung the game and put the Rams up 12. Down but not out, McNabb answered with a TD drive to cut it to 5, and the defense forced a quick 3 and out to give the Eagles one last shot. That’s where it ended. The offense stalled, and McNabb’s 4th down INT to Aeneas Williams sealed it, 29-24. A turning point for the NFC: the Rams never reached another title game with that core, while the Eagles went on to make the next three, taking over the conference and people understand this game was their arrival moment.

Ike Reese says based on what he saw from the Rams last night Eagles may be "the team to beat" in the NFC. "All the attention is elsewhere in the NFC which is where the Eagles play their best football. I got them at 13-4 and we're going to beat the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship to go face the Buffalo Bills in the Super Bowl."

This is a travesty! Players the Philadelphia Eagles have relied upon are playing their worse football! The OLine is being dominated, and the injuries and lack of athleticism on the edges are making #Dart look like #LamarJackson! Some of these issues has to be attributed to #COACHING!!

Spike says the Eagles are too talented to punt the season. "I don't think four games into the season with some injuries, you as the Philadelphia Eagles with a lot of high priced talent on this team, can just say, you know what? This ain't our year."

TJ Ward thinks the Broncos showed a recipe for how to beat the Eagles 👀 "They're a physically dominating team." "But when you confuse them and bring pressure and make Jalen have to put the ball in the air, you have a have a great chance of winning."

The Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in football. I asked Emmitt Smith what the gap is was between his former team and two best teams in the NFC, the Niners and Eagles. "I think the gap is going to be between the ears of the Cowboys." Great episode of This Is Football.

A message to all of the people and haters who have attacked me personally this week because of the fact I picked the Eagles to win a football game. Where I grew up and the team I grew up rooting for has nothing to do with my ability to talk about and analyze the game of football. Get a life and be better. Thanks to all of the real ones who continue to support, follow, watch and listen to my content. #Eagles #49ers

Eliot Shorr-Parks says Jalen Hurts has the perfect personality to be the Eagles QB: "When you're Jalen Hurts and you're the quarterback of the Philadelphia Eagles and you were a number one recruit in Texas and you played at Alabama and you went to Oklahoma. And now you're with the Eagles. You can't be who Jason Kelce and Brandon Graham are—you can't open up that way. In order to be the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback, in order to be Jalen Hurts, you have to have a wall up."

Eagles/Rams 2018 The Underdog Returned: The last time I can remember the Eagles being this counted out heading into a matchup with the Rams was back in 2018. The 6-7 Eagles, led by Nick Foles, traveled to LA for Sunday Night Football just one week after Carson Wentz was ruled out with another injury. They faced an 11-2 Rams team, and many felt Philly’s season was over. Instead, the Eagles showed exactly who they were. Philly dominated the first three quarters, jumping out to a 30-13 lead behind three rushing TDs and a dominant defensive performance. The Rams mounted a furious 4th quarter comeback, and after Jake Elliott missed a FG that could have put the game away, LA got one final chance. But the Eagles defense made the final play. Eagles win 30-23.
