Important to know that Postgres/MySQL on local SSD is *the* best way to get great performance. The reason it could get *even faster* boils down to abstraction boundaries. SSDs are built to be workload agnostic. They have their own controllers and garbage collectors meant to balance performance of many different I/O patterns. DBMS are written to support arbitrary backing I/O devices: SSD, HDD, or even a remote storage system. It's good that they're written to be broadly performant! The point of the paper was that, if you're willing to build something that specifically targets local SSDs (and even specific models of local SSDs) you can optimize the full DBMS -> OS -> hardware stack for the exact characteristics of a workload and hardware specifications. This is a classic tradeoff. You can usually get better performance as you narrow scope for specific hardware, architectures, etc. Maintainers of OSS must walk a careful balance of optimizing for performance while also maintaining wide compatibility. For the curious-minded, I wrote an interactive article on the history of I/O devices, and how that interplays with database performance:

Doing some testing of SS1 reading PS1 data directly from a disk without dumping the data first. It’s much better than I expected. That being said, copying games to the SD or SSD is still the optimal strategy for performance. It’s a one-time process and better for random access.

You know what I can't wrap my head around? They're saying Kate couldn't say much due to legal reasons..which is understandable. But if that's the case, why go to a tabloid, "tell your story," and make money off it? And why did you call it an "accident" when five people are being charged with his murder? That’s incredibly alarming....since 1 of the people are Roger which claims it was an accident too and is suing Geoff Payne.

On the Swargate-Katraj BRT route, garbage is piled up on the road between Balajinagar to K.K Market. Garbage is being dumped at many places on the BRT route under the Shri Sadguru Shankar Maharaj Flyover. Due to the neglect of the Municipal Corporation as well as the PMPML administration, a 'garbage dump' has literally formed in this place. Citizens of Katraj, Dhankawadi, Balaji Nagar and surrounding areas travel by bus. If You are looking for expensive hotkey controller for artists STOP, there is better and cheaper way and I will show You how! The only functionality we need while drawing is fast and direct access to the shortcuts, especially in Photoshop. On the web You can find many different brands which are selling really expensive shortcut devices but they are not comfortable to use, especially while I am drawing on couch, so I tried to find a better way, it was not hard and in the end it was a lot cheaper to set up everything! You can just use simple gamepad/controller. Anything will work - You can even use Switch controller if You know how to connect it to the PC. From my testing 8BitDo Lite 2 is perfect for the job. Its really small with a lot of hardware buttons for shortcuts, and it costs currently around 30USD! I don't know if there is something similar in this form factor but really You can use anything You have in Your house, I even tested PS4 controller but it was not comfortable to use. To setup shortcuts I am using JoyToKey, simple shareware software (support them if it will suit Your needs :)) which allows to set any shortcut on any controller, it even allows to create macros so it's really powerful if You want to play with it a bit. Anyway, this way You will have cheap, small and really useful shortcut pad which will work with anything. Hope it will help!
