Jeff Bezos interrupting an emotional William Shatner describing his only space flight experience just so he could spray champagne is so incredibly on point for these billionaires.

This is such a specific moment. Amazingly captured. It’s so detailed in how these guys and many powerful people are. It’s insanely frustrating to experience in real life. They’re just empty. Almost manically self absorbed.

Shatner's "no" makes it even more sad.

Heavily influenced at least

Shatner was clearly moved by the experience, and more attention should have been given for him to share that with anyone who would listen.

It seems like for Shatner this was a genuinely really meaningful experience. For Bezos it was just a "look, I'm with a celebrity" moment. WS wanted to put into words what he experienced there. JB wanted the old man to stop talking so he can celebrate his achievement.
