JUST IN: Canadian Liberal Party leader Mark Carney is set to call an election in April as his odds to win the election have flipped for the first time on Polymarket. Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has led in the odds market for months however that has since flipped. The flip comes likely as a result of President Trump's tariff threats, forcing Canadians away from the Conservative Party and back toward the Liberal Party. Poilievre was hovering at an 80% chance to win the election for months. Those odds now sit at just 41%. The election is reportedly set to take place on April 28.

The VEC’s reported Kew 2CP count was 53.73% for Wilson to Independent Sophie Torney’s 46.27%. Torney was subsequently elected local Mayor, and is recontesting the seat of Kew. Torney needs to swing 1,627 voters away from Liberal Wilson’s voting base to win. With 3,600 votes already gone to One Nation, expected preference flows have the seat on a knife-edge.
