Now here's where it gets interesting. Put yourself in a developer's seat. Target CUDA and you reach a few hundred million machines: every cloud, every computer maker, every industry, every country. And the platform gets roughly 10x better every six months, for free, while you wait. A rival could ship a chip that is genuinely faster and still lose, because no rational developer ports a mountain of software off a platform that already owns the install base and improves itself every two quarters. Marc Andreessen went on Chris Williamson's podcast and broke down exactly how Elon Musk runs multiple companies at once No other CEO on Earth does this: 1. Every week, Musk shows up at each of his companies, identifies the single biggest problem that company is having that week, and fixes it. Then he does that for 52 weeks in a row. At the end of the year, each company has solved its 52 biggest problems. Meanwhile, most large companies are still having the planning meeting for the pre-planning meeting for the board presentation with the compliance review and the legal review attached. 2. This is not a new operating method. It is actually how the great industrialists of the late 1800s and early 1900s ran their companies. Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, Thomas Watson, who built IBM. Total devotion from the leader to fully and deeply understand what the company does, be in the trenches, talk directly to the people doing the work, and be the lead problem solver in the organization. Andreessen says he is not aware of another current CEO who operates this way. 3. The framework Musk uses is the bottleneck. In any manufacturing chain, there is always one thing holding everything up. Sometimes it is raw materials at the start. Sometimes it is warehousing at the end. Sometimes it is in the middle. The job is to find it and remove it. Musk has universalized this concept across every company he runs. In any given week, there is one main bottleneck. He micromanages the solution to that one thing and delegates almost everything else. 4. Musk delegates almost everything. Andreessen is clear about this. He is not involved in most of what his companies are doing. He is involved in the one thing that is the biggest problem right now. Once that is fixed, he moves to the next biggest problem. Everything else by definition, is running better than the bottleneck, so it does not need him. 5. When Musk identifies the bottleneck, he goes directly to the engineer who actually understands it. not the VP of engineering, not the director, not the manager. The individual contributor who has the actual technical knowledge. He sits in the room with that person and fixes the problem alongside them. He does not ask for a report to be reviewed in three weeks. he shows up at the keyboard or on the manufacturing line and works through it overnight if necessary. 6. This is why technical people who work for Musk say it was the best experience of their lives. Andreessen's framing: if you are stuck on a problem you cannot solve, Elon Musk is going to show up in his Gulfstream, sit with you in front of the keyboard, and help you figure it out. For an engineer who genuinely cares about the work, that is an almost incomprehensible level of support from the CEO of the company. 7. Business school teaches the opposite of this: management as a generic skill applicable to any industry. Soup company or a rocket company, the management principles are the same. process, balance sheet, meeting schedules, compliance, executive motivation, interpersonal conflict resolution. Andreessen says those skills are useful in many contexts. They just give you nothing; you need to do what Musk does. And Musk pushes as far as he can away from all of that so he can spend all of his time doing the things only he can do.

It spends millions of years computing and delivers its answer. The answer is 42. The joke is that nobody knows what the question was. 4. That idea never left Musk. The universe is the answer. We just do not know what question it is answering. And to figure out the right question, you need a much bigger and more expansive consciousness than we currently have. 5. The more we can expand the scope and scale of consciousness, the better we can understand what questions to ask about the answer that is the universe. 6. This is why he wants more humans. More digital intelligence. More biological and artificial consciousness working together. Not for economic growth. Not for power. To collectively get better at asking the right questions. 7. This is why Mars matters to him. Not for the adventure. Not for the achievement. A single planet species is a single point of failure for consciousness itself. If something wipes out Earth, the question never gets asked. 8. "The more we can expand consciousness, become a multi-planet species, ultimately a multi-stellar species, we have a chance of figuring out what the hell is going on." 9. Everything he is building, the rockets, the AI, the robots, comes back to this one idea. He is not trying to get rich. He is trying to keep the candle of consciousness alive long enough to understand why it exists. 10. With $800 billion he could stop tomorrow. He does not stop because to him stopping would mean giving up on the only question that ever actually mattered. What is this all for and what are we supposed to be asking?

Jensen Huang said fears about AI destroying jobs are nonsense driven by people making things up. Then he gave the most concrete proof I have ever heard. He called it the radiology story. 12 years ago one of the world's most respected computer scientists made a prediction. Computer vision had become superhuman at reading medical scans. It never got tired. It never missed a detail. So he said radiology was finished. He advised nobody to enter the field. The job was going to be wiped out. Jensen said he was absolutely right. Computer vision did penetrate every single radiology stack. Every radiologist today is augmented by it. The task of reading scans became automated. Then the opposite of the prediction happened. Radiology demand went up. The number of radiologists in the world went up. The reason is the distinction Jensen kept coming back to the whole talk. Task versus purpose. The task of a radiologist is reading scans. The purpose is working with doctors to diagnose disease. When the task got automated, radiologists got more productive. More productive meant more patients admitted. More patients meant more scans. More scans meant more profit. More profit meant they hired more radiologists. The field the expert said would be wiped out needed more people than before. Jensen's point was not that AI creates no disruption. His point was that people confuse the task with the job and then make predictions that cause real damage. Fewer people trained in radiology because of that speech. Now there is a shortage. Someone recently said 90% of software coding will disappear. Jensen said Nvidia is hiring more software engineers than ever. Coding is not a software engineer's job. Solving problems is. When you automate the task, you free the person to do the actual job. That is not a job loss. That is an upgrade.

Jensen Huang just admitted Nvidia is paying for BOTH ends of its own $500 billion deal. Every outlet ran the same headline: Nvidia is putting half a trillion dollars into Korea. The largest AI infrastructure commitment ever announced with a single partner. But when asked what was actually inside that number and whether this is Nvidia spending money in the Korean economy, or SK fronting the capital themselves, Jensen said this: "We're gonna be purchasing memories from them for many years to come. In order to build a trillion dollars worth of Vera Rubin systems, you're gonna have to buy a lot of system memories to go with it. And so we have large purchase agreements and large purchase intentions with SK Hynix. Meanwhile, SK Telecom is gonna become an AI cloud. And in that agreement, we will be selling AI supercomputers to them. So between us, we're gonna do $500 billion worth of business." He literally described two completely different transactions and added them together. Nvidia pays SK Hynix for memory chips. SK Telecom pays Nvidia for supercomputers. Both directions get stacked into one figure and handed to the market as demand. A large share of that half trillion dollars is Nvidia's own money going OUT the door. This is the CEO of the most important chip company on Earth. His silicon runs every serious AI system on the planet. If anyone alive could announce a clean half trillion in customer demand, it's him. Instead he announced a number that counts his own supplier payments as "business." But now this is where it gets genuinely crazy... Bloomberg asked how badly Nvidia needs Korean supply to grow. Jensen said Nvidia does not have enough bits. He said the company is constrained in HBM memory, constrained in LPDDR memory, and constrained in just about every part of the supply chain. Then he named the bottleneck nobody expected: "We're even constrained now with land and power and construction workers to set up the data centers." The company announcing the biggest AI deal in history cannot hire enough people to pour concrete. Then he capped the entire industry. He said the industry has the ability to double each year, and will have a hard time growing much faster than that. Now hold that against the target he set at the top of the same interview: He said the semiconductor industry probably has to become 10x larger than it is today over the next decade. Doubling annually clears that on a spreadsheet. But in reality it only happens if land, power and construction crews cooperate every single year for ten years straight. And the demand justifying all of it is a number most people have not heard yet. Jensen is planning for 100 BILLION AI agents and billions of robots using computers. That is the actual bet. 10x the industry, financed by deals where the vendor is also the customer, and gated by how fast you can find electricians. Korea's market did not celebrate any of this by the way. The KOSPI has been falling hard and SK Hynix and Samsung both slumped while the half trillion dollar headline was running. Jensen listed both directions of money and totaled them on camera because he does not think there is anything wrong with it. Maybe there isn't. Chips have to be bought before systems can be sold. But the market is pricing these announcements as demand, and at least half of this one is spending.

Eric Schmidt on what he calls "the San Francisco consensus": "There's a group of people that I work with. They're all in San Francisco and they've all basically convinced themselves that in the next two to four year, the average is three years the entire world will change." He's careful to flag the catch in that word "consensus": "It's true that it's a consensus, but it's not necessarily true that the consensus is true." So why do these people believe it? Eric walks through the reasoning. First came language-to-language models. "ChatGPT is the best one, they did a great job," he says, with everyone else catching up. Then came two additions: reasoning, and memory inside these systems. Put those together and you get what he calls the agentic revolution: "The agentic revolution… can be understood as language in, memory and language, language out." To make it concrete, he uses a deliberately mundane example. Say he wants to build a house in California. One agent finds the lot. Another works out the rules. Another designs the building. Another selects the contractor. And, at least in America, another agent sues the contractor when the house doesn't work. The point of such a "stupid example," as he puts it, is exactly that it's ordinary: "I just gave you a workflow example that's true of every business, every government and every group human activity." That's why he thinks the consensus carries weight: "When you understand that the agentic revolution and the reasoning revolution together really changed the way we operate as humans, then you understand why the San Francisco consensus is so powerful." On the reasoning side, he points to models that work a problem forward and backward: "It will blow your mind away, especially when you ask it a question that you have no idea what the question is about and you watch it reason." And he cites the numbers he's seeing: "Google now has a math model that is at the 90 percentile of math graduate students." More broadly, he claims, "we now have systems now that are 90% of all of the graduate school skills. You know, math, physics, and so forth." When something can do that, he argues, "it will happen at a big scale." This is where the consensus reaches its sharpest point: recursive self-improvement. "There's a moment when what is called recursive self-improvement, the system begins to learn on itself, where it goes forward at a rate that is impossible for us to understand. It becomes combinatorial in a way that we as humans do not understand." His verdict on all of it is two-sided: "This is both incredibly exciting and also very worrisome."

If you stay, you notice he is doing the one thing that spectacle often ruins: he is keeping the song intact. So the pull of this old tape is not nostalgia for a haircut or a stage set. It is the relief of watching a musician who knows when to play, when to step back, and when to let the tune carry the room. He is not trying to make “Walk of Life” look impressive. Marc Andreessen explains the "Elon Method" of leadership, and it completely contradicts how most CEOs operate today. Most leaders get bogged down trying to manage every single moving part of their business. But according to Andreessen, Elon's approach is actually the exact opposite: he delegates almost everything. He isn't involved in 99% of what his companies are doing on a daily basis. Instead, his entire focus is hunting for one specific thing: The Bottleneck. In any manufacturing chain, there is always a bottleneck keeping the line from running the way it's supposed to. It could be a lack of raw materials at the beginning, or a shortage of warehouse space at the end. Whatever it is, that bottleneck is holding everything up. Job number one is to remove it and get things flowing again. Elon has universalized this concept. He looks at every company like it's a conceptual assembly line—sometimes a literal one making cars and rockets. He knows that on any given week, there is guaranteed to be one main bottleneck holding his people back. So, what’s the secret to his management paradox? He relentlessly micromanages the solution to that one specific problem. He doesn't need to manage everything else because, by definition, the rest of the company is running better than the bottleneck. Once it's fixed, he moves on to the next biggest problem. But here is the part where most non-technical CEOs would completely fail trying to replicate this method: When Elon identifies the bottleneck, he has zero patience for bureaucracy. He doesn't ask the VP of Engineering to ask the Director to ask the Manager to ask the individual contributor to write a report to be reviewed in three weeks. He would throw that entire chain of command out the window. Instead, he bypasses the middleman completely. He goes straight to the manufacturing line or the software group, personally finds the exact line engineer who actually understands the technical nature of the bottleneck, sits in a room with them, and fixes the problem together.
