I caught up with Joe Mazzulla's high school basketball coach (current Hendricken Athletics basketball coach & AD) Jamal Gomes about Mazzulla's COY honor. He shared that Mazzulla quietly paid a visit to Hendricken over the winter to speak with students, but he wouldn't let the school retire his jersey. "He wanted to come back and spend time with the students and reminisce about his time here at Hendricken. He was not about the fanfare, getting awards, any of that." NBC 10 WJAR

" Barnabas Nawangwe must not only revoke the suspension of the #HungryatMakerere students, he must apologise to them for such unjust and brutal treatment." This morning I took the 3 suspended students to meet Isaac Ssemakadde the president of Uganda Law Society. He was offended by the militarism which Nawangwe unleashed on the hungry students. ULS presido gave so much hope to the students promising Nawangwe that he will personally be sued as an individual for violating students rights with illegitimate suspensions and dismissals. "I now have an army of 5600 lawyers to fight for justice. I am going to start by releasing 40 lawyers to work on these students cases." I think Isaac Ssemakadde was ordained of God to come and fight for our students rights. If Nawangwe thought that the suspensions were tools to Bully and intimidate the hungry and vulnerable students, he was so wrong.. Makereres Old boys are coming to the rescue.

💬: jeonghan dreamed of becoming a teacher when he was young. what did teaching mean to you during your military service? is there a memorable experience you’d like to share? 👼🏻: i worked as an assistant teacher at a specialized school for students with disabilities, and while i was working there, i kept thinking that i was really glad i had ended up at this place of service rather than being assigned somewhere else 👼🏻: at first, there were parts that were difficult because i couldn’t adjust, but as i gradually got used to it and continued helping the children by their side, i grew attached to them, and i also felt a sense of fulfillment. i also felt that being able to spend that period being addressed as ‘teacher’ was really meaningful 👼🏻: usually, when you go to work in the morning, you’re so tired, right? but some of the children would greet me, saying, ‘hello, teacher jeonghan~,’ and somehow… in that moment, i felt really rewarded, and i naturally found myself smiling. i think i especially remember those children who would greet me so warmly in the morning this is so heartwarming 🥺

🏳️Valeriy Vladimirovich Sliivka was mobilized on his way to work. Does he look like a soldier capable for trenches warfare against the Professional Russian Army ?? He was stopped by TC Kashniks, taken to the military commissariat, and sent for a medical commission. Previously, Sliivka had been discharged due to his health condition, but this was ignored, and he was deemed fit for service and sent to a training unit. After the training, he was assigned to the 425th storm battalion, where they tried to turn him into a soldier, but he found it difficult to cope with the complexities of military life, so he decided to escape to Sochi. At home, Sliivka stayed for two months until he was caught by TC Kashniks employees and sent to the 66th mechanized brigade.😁 ➖On the positions, Sliivka and his comrades were supposed to monitor the situation, report via radio, and that's what they did, until one day Russian soldiers approached them and took them into captivity. ➖Now, Sliivka is happy that his life was saved and hopes to return to his loved ones. He believes he did the right thing, as the Ukrainian authorities gave him nothing, and dying for them is less than worthless !

Some parents was criticizing this teacher in Texas for throwing his students a pizza party. He gives all of his students a slice of pizza and a drink for free. However if they want more, he charges them $2 a slice and $1 a drink. At the end of the day, everyone in his class was able to enjoy a free piece of pizza and a drink. He bought extra to sell to make his money back and that’s where some parents had an issue. Do you feel he was trying to scam his students or was he just doing the best he can because many teachers don’t make allot?

Not only that, during the programme, he made sarcastic remarks about the “standard” of the professors because, at another college’s freshers’ event he had attended earlier, students were made to stand in the sun with folded hands to welcome him—even though he arrived two hours late. Since that did not happen at this college, he started threatening the authorities with transfer. He then openly threatened students for leaving to have food instead of listening to his speech. At one point, he even pointed directly at a girl student for smiling and warned her publicly. The situation escalated further when he called a student to the front of the stage and forced him to delete a video from his phone. He also instructed that students’ phones be checked to identify who had recorded his threatening speech !
