Yooyeon: Back during My Teenage Girl, I was on the verge of being eliminated, but teacher Soyeon saved me with a wild card pick. Thanks to that, I made it to the next round, and while it didn't exactly go smoothly, I worked hard and made it to the final round. There are things teacher Soyeon said to me that I still remember. My confidence was really low, and since it was a competition, you got immediate feedback whenever you didn't do well. I'd get discouraged, but teacher Soyeon would always tell me, "You have your own strengths. Don't worry so much about the other stuff, just focus on what you're good at." She's the only person who ever told me in detail what I'm actually good at. "How did it feel to do a challenge with your mentor?" Yooyeon: I was really grateful. I was the one who said I wanted to do it, and she happily said she'd love to. It brought back all those memories, and honestly, I feel like I'm here because of her. So my heart felt really strange.

When I was in elementary school in the '80s, I had this really hot teacher; it was the first and last time I'd ever have a hot teacher again. She was really optimistic and just a genuinely a chipper person. I remember she gave a speech that by the time we were adults, the whole world would be equal, and Africa would make a Walkman or car just as good as the Japanese. Africa would also make a Macintosh just as good as Apple. It's 2026, and East Asians pretty much wipe their asses with anything Africa can make. Talk about getting it wrong.
