A Delta pilot spotted an Atlas Air Boeing 747 with its nose wheel turned sideways while holding on the taxiway after landing at Miami. It looks uncommon, but my take is the 747 had just landed and was holding with hot brakes; released brakes cool faster than applied brakes. Regarding the nose gear being in that position (sideways), that places more load on it. Great job by the Delta pilots for spotting it and looking out for the 747 crew. B747 pilots, do you use this technique?
