@JackTambroni Pilot greased that landing. Notice that the spoilers didn't deploy and also, he didn't use reverse thrust. He kept as much pressure off the nose gear as possible. Same as what I learned to do when doing soft field landing in light aircraft.

What’s amazing is zero reverse thrust, no GLD/spoilers .. all to reduce the amount of stress on nose gear and allow for the friction to stop the plane and it did so perfectly.

Astounding piloting skills. The initial landing was so smooth and then he set down the front landing gear so gently. Probably saved a lot of lives.

When the Nose Gear Never Came Down! ✈️The crew of this Boeing 727 tried extending the Nose Gear but did not receive a down and locked indication, leaving them with only one option, to perform a controlled nose gear-up landing! The pilots executed a very smooth landing, maintaining the aircraft on its main wheels before the nose gradually settled onto the runway, bringing the Jet safely to a stop. Incredible Skills by the crew 🔥

This week's blast from the past is the final flight of the last double bogey Air India #A320 - VT-ESL in June 2019. These aircraft were originally delivered to Indian Airlines (IC) with twice as many wheels on the landing gear. This is where the "double bogey" reference comes from. Back in the day airports where IC operated did not have optimum infrastructure i.e., runways and taxiways for aircraft with a standard landing gear. Which is why to better distribute loading and ease the strain on the landing gear, Airbus custom made these for IC. A quick glance at the landing gear of a standard A320 -VT-EXA and VT-ESL below will help explain the above better. #AvGeek
