Interesting that in three of my recent conversations with Krishna at Anthropic, Dylan Patel, and Gavin Baker, each said that frontier tokens are capturing the majority of the economic value. Gavin: "An overwhelming amount of the economic returns to AI at the model layer have been at the frontier. That's surprising to me, and I think it's been surprising to a lot of people. This is one of the most important questions to be answered, and you need to have a hypothesis on it as an investor." Krishna: "We think the returns to frontier intelligence are extremely high. Customers invest really heavily in more tokens with the newer models. The ones at the frontier clearly are capturing this economic value, driving meaningful ROI for customers. The returns to frontier intelligence are not slowing down." Dylan: "No one gives a crap about GPT-4 class models. They want the frontier because the frontier lets them create the economically valuable things."

I think it’s safe to say that 2025 was a very interesting year. And I think I see it very differently than most. You probably saw a lot of headlines about AI and tech stocks. While that was a big story, I don’t think it was the most important thing. The big story in the investment world was the depreciation of the value of fiat money and how that impacted the price of gold. That’s how 2025 looked through my eyes, at least. I’m curious to hear if you see things the same way.

“ yes, honestly, it’s true. one of the things we’ve been working on is staying calm, and when i need it most, samu is there giving me support when things aren’t going well. staying positive, keeping trying — i think that’s what happened today. i started very well, things went a bit sideways, i lost my feeling a little, but we stayed serious the whole time, holding through alex’s good moments. as you said, there were several points — 5-5, 5-4, 6- 5 — where i was having fun, enjoying myself, laughing. i think that’s why i was able to change the way i saw the match, see things much more clearly, do what i had to do, and execute it perfectly. as you said, maturing, growing, but never losing our essence.”
