The Bible tells us exactly where the name came from, the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch (Acts 11:26). It didn't start with a philosophy or a man-made system by Paul. It started with people following Jesus Christ, the chief corner stone. When men try to credit Paul as the founder, they ignore the very timeline of the text and create contradictions where none exist. In the name of Jesus.

Paul received the Gospel of transcendent grace from the Glorified Christ on the road to Damascus. That revelation was universal in scope. Peter and the 12 had the earthly Israel kingdom gospel that came from the earthly Jesus. Two different gospels both came from Jesus.
