The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has this morning arrived in Kisoro District ahead of his farewell pastoral visit to Muhabura Diocese. The Archbishop was warmly received by hundreds of Christians from Muhabura Diocese at Nyakabande Airstrip before proceeding to an official welcome led by the Bishop of Muhabura Diocese, Rt. Rev. Godfrey Mbitse. He was also welcomed by Emeritus Bishop Cranmer Mugisha, members of the clergy, a section of district leaders, and security officials. A joint security team comprising the Uganda Police Force and the Uganda People's Defence Forces was deployed at Nyakabande Airstrip and along the Archbishop's route to ensure the safety of the Archbishop, worshippers, and other members of the public during the visit.

More than 300 Ugandans living in South Africa, together with friends of Uganda, today participated in a 5km activation run in Pretoria ahead of the 2026 Rwenzori Marathon, slated for August in Kasese District, Western Uganda. Organised by the Uganda High Commission in Pretoria, with support from the Rwenzori Marathon Secretariat, the event forms part of a series of international activation runs aimed at promoting Uganda’s premier tourism and sports event across the African continent. I was there all day long. There were at least 3,000 people in attendance. This was an all day event. The rally wrapped around the sides and front of the court house. When President Trump’s motorcade was leaving, there were at least 600 people in the street in the back of the courthouse to say goodbye to him. That’s not including everyone who was in front of the courthouse and everyone on the sidewalk and in the street. It’s all on video. You’re lying.
