WOW. Minnesota's state-run Housing Stabilization Services program has been SHUT DOWN due to the massive amount of fraud that left the program BANKRUPT. "It was estimated in 2020 that it would cost only about $2.5 million a year to fund this program, but it ended up costing almost 50 times that much. Over $104 MILLION by 2024 due to fraud." "Because of all the fraud, Minnesota had to shut the program down in 2025." Think about how many homeless veterans could've used this program to have a roof over their heads.

Karen Bass fired these men with one email and never responded to all their requests to meet. She didn’t even want to speak to them after firing them to fund her homeless housing program. She defunded a 130 year old Los Angeles institution that paves the roads. This is why everybody in LA gets flat tires every 3 months. She took the money from infrastructure and used it to fund her $400M inside safe program which is essential a property development initiative masquarading as a homeless initiative. Homelessness can’t be a choice. Especially when over 200 people die on the streets each year. Especially when it’s harming the broader community — shuttering small businesses and costing taxpayers tens of millions each year. Especially when we’re offering a safe, private, dignified alternative. I am proposing that after 3 offers of shelter, we hold people accountable for turning their lives around. Because we all have a responsibility to end this crisis – government has a responsibility to build shelter, and our homeless neighbors have a responsibility to use it.
