Former US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was criticised by Harvard students for refusing to acknowledge Israel's genocide in Gaza, despite recognition from the UN. Students held banners telling Sullivan that his next stop would be The Hague. After serving as a key advisor to the Joe Biden administration – which has long been accused of acting as an accessory to Israel's war crimes in Palestine – Sullivan was reportedly appointed to the faculty of the Harvard Kennedy School in April.

Just before al-Sharaa's (US-aided) rise to power in Syria last year he was head of the local al-Qaeda branch in Syria. And now he is humiliated by the failure of his foreign policy in the Middle East. That has made America less safe. That has cost Americans tens of billions of dollars. That has expended munitions and military equipment. It will take years for us to replace. That has diminished our standing in the world.
