Govt delaying release of Matiullah Jan despite bail Orders? Update on Matiullah Jan release as per Asad Ali Toor. #MatiullahJan was presented before ATC today after which he was sent back to Adiala Jail and later the ATC granted him bail and sent Robkar to Jail Authorities to release Matiullah. However, what appears to be a bid to elongate his misery and agony Adiala has refused to accept Matiullah Jan stating they have no further space so he should be sent to Attock or Jhelum Jail. All Adiala needs to do is to take back his custody as formality and then release him shortly after but instead they want him to be sent to another Jail so another Robkar has to be issued for that Jail and with the Sunday intervening tomorrow the idea appears to be to delay his release till Monday.

A man in Uttar Pradesh's Meerut has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife by slitting her throat with a paper cutter after she objected to his alleged extramarital affair, official said on Saturday. The incident took place in the Lisari Gate where the victim, identified as Kausar, was found dead in a pool of blood inside her home at around 8 am on Friday. Initially, the killing was suspected to have been carried out by an unidentified assailant using a sharp weapon. Police said the accused, Kausar's husband Saqib, attempted to pass off the murder as a case of theft. At the time of the incident, the couple's three young daughters were present in the house. Saqib allegedly instructed one of the children to tell police that robbers had entered the house and killed their mother. According to officials, Kausar had been opposing her husband's alleged illicit relationship with another woman. This, police said, led to frequent disputes between the couple and ultimately resulted in the murder. Saqib allegedly used a paper cutter to slit his wife's throat while she was asleep. After the crime, Saqib tried to mislead both the police and his family. He fabricated a story about an unknown attacker dressed in black and even staged grief to avoid suspicion. However, inconsistencies in his statements raised red flags during questioning. Police said Saqib repeatedly changed his version of events during interrogation. As officials gathered evidence and intensified questioning, he eventually confessed to the crime. Based on his disclosure, the murder weapon was recovered.
