One case involves a judge applying conditions to a specific defendant. The other involves a nonprofit bail fund. These aren't remotely the same thing.

@JLapitz3 The court would have to prove the donated funds were generated by illegal activity or lack of transparency. The bondsman can refuse to grant bail if he suspects the person is a serious flight risk. Other than that, if the funds are legit they can’t refuse them, bail will be set.

Reid Poland III reduced Dalton Eatherly's ("Chud the Builder") bond to $1M but ruled that ~$230k in post-incident GiveSendGo donations cannot be used to post it. A separate sourcing hearing will review eligibility. In 2020, Kamala Harris promoted the Minnesota Freedom Fund for bailing out George Floyd protesters/rioters. Those donated funds were accepted for bail without similar source restrictions in reported cases.

MANY J6ers were fined the POS D.C. judges like Boasberg, Mehta, etc. the exact amount of their GSG fundraisers. Judges are as political as the day is long.

This isn’t accurate. The judge didn’t rule this. A hearing was set regarding it. There has been no ruling.
