Why does my cat stalk towards me as though I am prey? I only caught the tail end of this occurrence in the video, but about once a week I notice my cat (5 months) stalking towards me like this (she typically starts from much farther away and goes even slower). The weirdest part to me is that she only really does it towards me, not my husband. I’ve also seen her stalk prey before and she doesn’t usually continuously move in slow motion like this, she typically walks forward, pauses and assesses for a while, and then goes for the kill. Usually when she does this to me, she ends up snapping out of it due to movement or sound elsewhere, so she’s never pounced or anything - at most she jumps up next to me and then goes back to normal. I’m a new cat owner so this may be typical behavior, but it is so bizarre to me that this behavior seems reserved for me alone - not my husband, not our dog who she loves wrestling with (thanks reddit for clearing that up), and not the bugs she preys on. I was laughing in this video because she was cracking me up, but sometimes it genuinely freaks me out a bit, I feel like prey and I don’t like it 😶 I would love to hear any thoughts on the matter, if nothing else just enjoy this clip of my cat being an apex predator lol

Another IG distribution update that you totally didn’t ask for. It’s been about 5 days since I started putting serious effort into content and paid ad distribution for JKIndex.io. The IG account went from around 7 followers to 40. Obviously still tiny numbers, but nearly 6x in five days. Instagram is one of the channels I specifically called out in my JK distribution thesis because collectors are already doing the exact thing JK Index is built around there. It also probably explains why this content hasn’t done nearly as well here on X. There just isn’t the same concentration of grading specific content and communities here that already exists on Instagram and Reddit. On IG, some people post guess the grade content. Others crack slabs and regrade cards. Others rip packs and ask what a potential hit could grade. > People watch > Call PSA 8, 9 or 10 in the comments > Debate over it > Sometimes return later for the grade reveal This is already an event. In a loose sense, it is already a market. It just doesn’t have a surface. 1⃣ There’s no lasting record of who actually knows how to grade. 2⃣ Hundreds of opinions never become a market price. 3⃣ The owner still has no way to protect themselves if the 10 they expected comes back a 9. That’s what Before the Slab is being built around. None of this behavior depends on JK Index existing. That’s what makes it interesting. Collectors are already doing it every day. Anyway, back to the numbers, because they at least give us something concrete. Over the latest IG reporting window, the JK Index IG had: > 29,238 views from 20,959 viewers > 99.5% of those views came from non followers > 373 interactions > 511 profile visits More importantly, since I refactored /preview a few days ago so people could play without creating an account, 262 unique guest sessions have landed on the page. 249 of them arrived with UTMs. Only 8 started a run and 5 completed one though. Regardless, finally reaching the audience I thought I could reach. Now the problem of moving them from watching someone guess a grade on Instagram to making the call themselves on JK Index. The GTM agency I hired also started this week, so I’m excited to see what we learn and whether we can actually move those numbers. My pilot friend told me he gets a weather update 12 hours before any public forecast. I asked him, do you trade on Polymarket? He laughed. Then went quiet. We were at a bar last Friday. He had just landed from Frankfurt. I was complaining about a losing streak on weather markets. Then between sips he said something that made me put my glass down. "You are betting on weather using weathercom? That is like trading stocks using yesterday newspaper." He pulled out his phone and showed me an app I had never seen. A wall of codes. METAR. TAF. SIGMET. Temperature to the tenth of a degree. Wind speed. Pressure systems. Cloud ceiling. Updated every 1 to 3 hours. We get this before every flight. Directly from meteorological stations. Not forecasts. Observations. Real readings from real sensors. Every pilot in the world has access to this. Aviation safety requires it. But nobody outside of aviation ever looks at it. He went back to his beer. For him this was routine. I sat there doing math in my head. If aviation data updates every 1 to 3 hours and Polymarket odds on weather markets lag behind reality, how big is that window? I do not know the exact delay. But from what I have seen trading these markets the prices sometimes feel hours behind what the actual forecast already says. That means someone with faster data could be buying YES at 10 to 15 cents when the real probability is already way higher. Not predicting the weather. Just reading it before the market does. I went home. Could not sleep. Opened Polymarket and started searching. If this edge exists, someone must already be using it. It took me forty minutes of digging through weather wallets to find what I was looking for. → His profile: This wallet started at -$47. The balance now: over $27,000. Every single position is weather. Temperature in Dallas. Rain in Buenos Aires. Whether London will hit 11 degrees on a Tuesday. The win rate sits at 76.6%. Three out of four bets land green. Most entries cost pennies. 2 to 5 cents per share. When the bet loses the damage is tiny, $50 gone. When it wins the payout is the full dollar. One win covers $500. Sometimes $5,000. At 76% accuracy with that payout ratio the math speaks for itself. I checked the entry timing on this wallet. It is not a millisecond bot racing against HFT. Positions stay open for hours. Sometimes a full day. You can see the wallet move and follow it. No server farms. No Python scripts. No race against latency. Last night I texted my pilot friend. Told him I found a wallet doing exactly what he described, pennies in, thousands out, all weather. He read the message. Typing indicator appeared. Disappeared. Appeared again. "Yeah. I know." He never said anything else about it. Right now a meteorological station somewhere is updating a reading. A pilot is glancing at it before pushback. From what I have seen, there is usually still a window.

You’re on a journey on this kind of lonely road with your car and your car suddenly develops a fault, You can’t call for help and your lines can’t be reached due to network issues, what do you do? Except the car will stop and the engine won’t come up again, please reduce your speed and accelerate softly till you get to a nearby town, if it is an overheating issue, keep driving, put the gear in the neutral position and switch off the engine and let the car keep moving, switch it back on when you have to ascend a hilly road and the car can’t move freely on its own again. If the battery signal comes up while driving, chances are that your alternator has failed, or the alternator belt is damaged, apply the same method and switch off your AC, radio system or anything that may drain the battery while driving till you get to a safe place. If it is a flat tyre, maintain a low speed till you get to a safe place to change and use your spare, keep moving. Yes!!! Damage that tyre till you get to a safe place, just keep moving and make sure you have a spare tyre always and it is in a good condition. If the engine suddenly goes off on top speed, chances are that a fuse is damaged and this is why I will make a thread on how to identify different fuses and how to have them fixed temporarily in case of Emergencies. If your car jerks or experiences a lazy movement while driving, it’s likely to be a fuel related issue, fuel pump most likely, switch off the engine intermittently and put the gear in Neutral position, keep moving… if the fuel pump rests for about 5mins, it’ll pick up back when you ignite the engine, this will/may at least take you to a safe place or where you can have access to network to make calls. If you hear strange sounds like knocking sounds or the oil signal starts to blink, relax and reduce your speed, keep moving. Manage it till you get to a safe place or can have access to network. If your gear/transmission system isn’t selecting well, apply the same method, reduce your speed but keep moving, slow movement is better than no movement, your life and safety matters a lot. Please note that there are some Mechanical issues that nothing can solve on the road except patience and just to pray to God for safety and help, for example, you run into a pothole unknowingly and the oil pan hits the road and your engine or gear oil leaks away, or your ball joint or tie rod head pulls out, I’ll suggest you leave the car there, roll up your windows and lock up the car and start trekking till you get network or help, staying with the car may make you vulnerable to attacks or attract unexpected company, just keep walking away from the car for safety. Most importantly, please stay safe and be conscious of your environment. Be friendly with your Mechanic too or any Mechanic you see on the road. Don’t manage faults in cars and risk traveling with it.
