Better to build it right in the first place. The stress remains and will show up later in drywall cracks, out of square door jams, windows, ect...

Everyone roasting the holes like it's the end of structural integrity 😂 In reality the Hammer Down is niche but legit for certain jobs—prefab panels, mass timber, or when studs are bowed/crowned and a regular clamp just slips or won't reach. Those hooks bite in hard and the ratchet gives stupid leverage (they claim ~3300 lbs pull force on the beefier models). For everyday stick framing though? Yeah, most framers are right—a $15 pair of C-clamps or even a cheap ratchet strap does 95% of the same work without turning your 2×4 into Swiss cheese. Stedox basically admits in their own marketing that "99.9% of carpenters can't watch without criticizing" lol — they're leaning into the hate. Respect the hustle. Still gonna stick with clamps unless I'm solo-ing 10-ft wall panels all day."
