I question if Jacob Elordi is truly a leading man. I’m seeing The Dog Stars tonight & his performance will have a big impact on how I view Elordi’s ability to carry a film. Similar to Paul Mescal, whom I wrote about yesterday, Elordi is quality actor, no doubt about it. He’s already an Oscar nominee. But being a movie star capable of holding down James Bond is a different task than just being a good actor. This weekend will tell me a lot about whether Elordi can be both.
