Just because Elena Rybakina doesn't show emotion on championship point doesn't mean she can't feel it vividly; as an introvert, her emotional response is internalized and/or delayed. This is her bursting into tears in press after winning Wimbledon 2022...

Who cares whether she shows emotions or not the most important thing is she won

The discourse on her reaction overnight has been *wild*. What a W.

Introverts are self confident & comfortable in their own skin. We don't need to showboat or yelp after every win in life. We need no external validation or praise. We do what we do, move on & go about our business.

Rybakina after winning a grand Slam on court is similar to Mr Bean on that Roller Coaster ride No Roars, No Shouting

Anybody with little decency should understand this, especially ex players on the tour like @MirzaSania who embarrassingly asked Elena how/why she didn’t display any overt emotions after winning. This is the worst Q to ask an introverted person btw.

I love it. That’s how some of us are. We kind of cage ourselves emotionally until the work is done. Once we can finally turn it off and the feelings come rushing in, it’s this intense moment. It’s very common in the military. There is a job to do and you remain focused.

Oh,how much I wanted this nice girl to win. Hope you'll be winning more😊

I think the curiosity comes because she isn’t an introvert like everyone here claims. We have seen her dancing at concerts, we have seen her making reels with her rumoured boyfriend/coach - Vukov, we have seen her do a lot of regular extroverted stuff - so her nonchalance after winning a grandslam feels very weird. It just never will make her marketable or appealing which in result, affects tennis reaching more people.

It's clear she's very sensitive. In a sport like tennis, she must have pushed herself incredibly hard to win two major titles. Her achievement is all the more remarkable.

a great person very humble and down to earth quiet and lethal on the court please respect this lady she deserves better

I liked that she didn’t. The overblown shows of emotion that some players indulge in is ridiculous. All the tears and grandstanding, no thanks. In years gone by the players just looked happy and relieved and that was enough.

She is awesome.

Anyone who criticizes her for showing no emotion is the same kind of clowns who’s used to over-the-top emotional displays from a tennis player like Carlos — the kind of guy who celebrates every other point in a match he’s probably going to win 6–1, 6–3, 6–2 anyway.

Tomorrow after Final there will be lot of emotions So everyone can switch on TV tomorrow

She’s so sweet

She is not a drama queen. Congrats to her win. Very nice match to watch.

@poeta_de_playa Good for her. We will be seeing a lot more of her.

@josemorgado To each their own. Congratulations, Elena. Happy for you!

Tremenda, Elena!

Lovely to see her close the big mouth of Sabalenka!

I like her/it. It starts to be boring, all those players celebrating a win as if they won the tournament already.

@josemorgado She is really nice person. I think it's good for tennis to have such a girl as the face of the sport

She’s just unlikable, cold and comes across that joy is in short supply Such a shame as she’s great tennis

Why is there even a discourse surrounding how a player decides to react after winning. If she doesn't want to be emotional, let her be. What's this whole faux celebration gimmick trending. Let her be. Her tennis has done the talking. She doesn't have to be animated to suit you.

YEAH. IT IS SO HARD ON PLAYERS SOMETIMES.

🤍🤍

She is great

Credit to her. What people do not realise. It's an intense sport. They give their all and more. It's everything. It consumes their whole life to try and be the best. They live and breathe it.

Przepiękna, skromna, utalentowana ❤️ Prawdziwa Mistrzyni 🏆

She won something, happy yes, but there’s more to life then lifting a dam trophy. Plus she knows not everything will always go your way, best to just be neutral and enjoy it.

The irony of Ice Queen Chris Evert gushing about how happy she was to see Rybakina expressing joy at winning.

Ppl will criticize either side of the spectrum! Let them hate shes a champion in spite of the haters

But what's wrong with people not expressing their emotions and feelings in public?...I just don't understand. Leave her alone and let her experience it however she wants.
