So he threw the knife at the cops? If he doesn't have the knife any longer, then how was deadly force even on the table?

It's almost like the police force is a place where people who want to shoot someone go to work. I remember in High School when I asked this big kid named Kyle why he played hockey his answer was, "so I can hit people." Same thing.

If he threw the knife, wasn't he unarmed? Am I missing the part where he had more weapons?

But the part that truly gets me is that they say he attempted to throw the knife at them. So he disarmed himself? And they still shot and killed him? There’s a fence on one side. There’s 2 cops behind him. Put 2 in front of him. Wait till he gets tired & call in mental health.🤬

Hang on, did I hear that right? He threw his knife at them? He didn't stab at them, but threw it out of his hand towards them, so that it left his hand completely? And they shot him after he disarmed himself? Maybe I'm confused, but that sounds like they shot an unarmed person.

*Sigh*

Maybe we need to train our police force better….

If you watch closely he had already thrown the knife. It hit the cement wall area. He was no longer armed when he was shot.

I have so many questions. I'm so sick of this

A net would’ve worked Cops are the problem Not the solution The system is absolutely corrupt Criminals with badges Nothing more

This stuff happens way too often. Police don't have training to handle mental health crises so they just shoot. I've told people that, I'm in crisis as a person who lives with BPD, call an ambulance. Sure, the police might have to come, but I will have the right people there, too

Police have actual clear poly carbonate shields. Get just close to let him throw. He only has one knife. Not like he has a kitchen drawer full. Then de escalation from there. Hell of lot to be said for a pause and see options, to protect and serve.

This is textbook use of force. Made by law makers not the police. What were they supposed to do? Let him just go cause he’s got shorter legs? Can still clearly walk and is violent, all other measures were used and they went to the last resort. As it should be

decades of simulator training on gta et al means reactions will always be governed by in-game rules over society's. deny all they want, but that's what we are seeing over and over again.

Multiple officers can't manage to take a guy with no legs into custody without killing him.. Limp useless cowards

just... just wana say, I've seen alot of videos of police going full HAM escilation on 13yo too.... so that analogy doesnt work so well when you talk about cops😂😭 (I know tizzy knows this, it's for the boot lockers who show up here sometimes)

i often wonder (from here in Aust - though i am sure some of ours could be asked the same question) why they always go for the kill shot and not even a disarming shot if a taser or pepper spray doesn't work...yanno?

Over my life I have known dozens of cops who would have known how to deal with that civilian without shooting him. And "fearing for your safety" doesn't cut it. If you can't handle the job of cop don't sign up for it.

"That needs to change" It starts at the top. Some place in the chain of command, this behavior is being condoned or encouraged. We can start by firing those in charge. Then there needs to be accountability for officers who aren't getting the msg. Jail time.

The man was maimed by police in Texas

What the police did was awful but comparing a disabled person in crisis to a toddler is kind of rough.

How did he “once again attempt to throw the knife at them”? So he threw it once and they weren’t able to reach it before the double amputee got it again - or they’re lying? How is it that this happens to the black amputee but white men with four limbs and a weapon live?

This is it exactly. When shooting becomes the first response rather than the last possible option, how do you come back from that?

Had Time, Distance & Cover been observed this man wouldn’t have been shot🤬The more of these I watch it becomes clear that as soon as the min justification for lethal force is present the trigger gets pulled. LE has shown that they have no ability or desire to switch modes.

It also seems like he lost the parts of his legs due to police altercation before. Someone was mentioning that yesterday in another post.

Ridiculous, fucking ridiculous

It was just an excuse to shoot him.

I usually agree with a lot of what you say, but I’ve gotta disagree with you on this one. He’s moving around, he will inevitably be nearing bystanders…eliminate the threat before innocent people get hurt.

This double amputee had just stabbed someone unprovoked, and had a history of extreme violence… not sure you get to get unlimited attempts at murder just bc ur an amputee. He’s an adult trying to kill people, not gonna be missed in society

I am sorry I don’t agree with you one bit! They had all the rights in the world to shot this guy!

Bold of you to assume police wouldn’t shoot a toddler.

How do you “attempt to throw a knife”? Either you throw it or you don’t. 🤷♀️
