Last year, around this time, I was getting ready for the most consequential protest I’ve ever been part of. We achieved all we set out to do peacefully but the police responded with brutal force and claimed many of our own. It’s a wound that will never fully heal, and we must never forget the brutality Kenyan youth have suffered at the hands of those meant to protect us. A year later, I still sing this anthem, the same one we sang together in the streets, in solidarity with every young person marching or protesting tomorrow. Though I am thousands of kilometres away, I stand in solidarity with you. To the families who lost loved ones, my heart is with you. To Kenya, our motherland, we shall surely liberate you.🇰🇪

Exactly two years since this my horrible experience with members of the Nigerian police force Nigeria Police Force . Since this experience I’ve always had chronic phobia for the Nigerian police. Any time I see them, I start shaking due to this experience. Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi SP Bright Edafe I just got molested and brutalized and almost killed today by Nigerian police officers. Here’s how it happened. I was driving home with my friend in Benin close to Limit when we approached a police checkpoint. They stopped us, we stoppe. They’ve stopped another car before us. Seems they found him wanting of something I don’t know. So they asked for my driver’s license and vehicle papers which I gave them….

This is an impossible situation that our city is presently being put in, and at the same time we are trying to find a way forward to keep people safe, to protect our neighbors, to maintain order. We're in a position right now where we have residents that are asking the very limited number of police officers to fight ICE agents on the street, to stand by their neighbors. We cannot be at a place right now in America where we have two governmental agencies that are literally fighting one another. We are put in this position because we have approximately 600 police officers in Minneapolis -- far fewer that are able to work at any given time. And there are approximately 3,000 ICE agents in the area."

We just got out of jail in Brussels. What a day! Huge thank you to Lois McLatchie Miller who handled all the craziness with perfection. She’s incredibly brave and put up with a lot of harassment, which is why we called police in the first place. 4 police vans and about 14 police showed up. I guess they thought it was easier to take care of us than the angry mob, so we were taken to a police station — after refusing to remove our signs and walk away — and told we were being charged with what translates as causing a disturbance of the peace. We were then handcuffed and transported to another police station. All of our possessions were taken and logged, I had to strip down to my underwear for a search, and we were put into jail cells. Thankfully, I was able to speak with Lois through the bars, as she was in the cell right next door. 😂 And after all that, guess what? No charges filed! That hasn’t stopped them from confiscating my signs, which I am told will be sent for destruction. In my opinion, this is abuse of authority and state-sanctioned censorship. We’re looking at legal options. Thank you to ADF International who I understand had lawyers at the police station while we were locked up. This behavior can’t be allowed to stand. STATEMENT: James Harvey, my boyfriend and founder of Students Against Tyranny, was arrested at around 8am today, before our protest in Bowthorpe. The arrest concerned an alleged ‘racial aggravation’ on July 21st, with James calling migrants ‘Foreign Filth.’ This is alleged, and an investigation has been launched. He has been taken to Wymondham Police Station, and remains in custody. I am in utter disbelief. Six officers came to our house (two to arrest, two to search the house, and another two to provide larger bags for devices). Rather than searching the rest of the house, they only searched one room - MY BEDROOM. They came with a warrant, and four offices stayed in my room (searching and writing in their folder) for thirty solid minutes. This is all why I am in my pyjamas (I had only just had a shower). When they came, James wasn’t even dressed. We had had a long night of planning the day. Luke Sharman, who I interviews to exposed the Brook and Norwich hotels, was also arrested at a similar time for ‘Affray.’ That is, at least, 10 officers that came out to arrest people today. But children in Bowthorpe are being ignored by the police, putting their safety in jeopardy. Children claim to have been photographed by migrants, and when reporting to the police, get the response, “It’s not illegal, there’s nothing we can do.” Every day, I am shown that our police force is not what it used to be.

An emergency alert has been issued to the city's Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood, urging residents to STAY INDOORS. Police said "if you are in the affected area, shelter indoors, lock the doors, stay away from windows and follow instructions of local authorities." No word on the condition of the officers. The incident comes after a series of two police murders in Toronto earlier this month.

Kenyan police have a reputation for being problematic, corrupt, and violent, but this level of disrespect toward a police officer is unacceptable. The foreigner captured in this video deserves to be prosecuted, jailed, and then deported. I can guarantee that if it had been a Kenyan who dared to do this to an officer, he would have been beaten to death. Kenyan police fear whiteness and anyone who looks rich. As President, I shall send all current police officers for retraining and retire those who cannot be retrained. In my government, we shall pay police better, upgrade police stations to ensure better working conditions, and have officers live in the community. The police will be allowed to have a union to fight for their rights.

gunwook day 1 here&now encore ending ment 🥹 💌 the first day of the encore concert has ended. it’s coming to an end. since it’s been a while since we were together with zerose and meeting you again to perform like this, i was really nervous but also really happy. even while preparing, i felt very excited. there were things we were showing for the first time, and many stages we were performing for the first time with this set, so it was really fun. more than anything, the fact that the nine of us were building and carrying the stage together felt especially precious during this concert. since i’m one of the taller members in the team and i usually stand at the very end in the official formations, i get a lot of chances to see all the members at once. every time that happens, i feel so reassured, and i really love being able to see the backs of our amazing members seeing the backs of the other eight members and also seeing their side profiles. i hope that from now on, for a long, long time, i can keep capturing those moments and those in my eyes, and i also hope i can keep filling my eyes with zerose’s blue lights and your blue smiles. somehow, i remember writing this in a letter back during our first anniversary. i said that i felt sad and upset that there might be an end, because i was so curious about what our future selves would look like. and i think i still feel that way now. i don’t know what will happen in the future, but i’ve become so curious about the futures of the other members too, and i really want to support those futures. so because of that, i think the feeling of sadness becomes a little bigger as time passes. for some zerose, today might be the last time you see us like this, or maybe you’ll see us again tomorrow, or the day after tomorrow. but i hope that you can take the image of the nine of us as zerobaseone and keep it in your hearts forever, treasuring it as something precious. and i hope we can become a presence you can always look back on something that gives you strength whenever you need it. thank you. i love you.
