As Rep Tim Kane explains with clarity, the history of Iran did not start in 1979, no more than the history of how Israelis treated Palestinians begin after October 7th 2023. How politically expedient it is for those in power to rewrite history to satisfy a narrative. Just as a footnote, as I said at the very outset of this war of choice, Trump can’t and won’t win. Deir Ezzor has gone from yellow to green, but this does not mask the black. 🇸🇾 The predominantly tribal population of the governorate east of Syria attacked convoys belonging to the Ministry of the Interior’s security forces yesterday, 1 April, in protest at the demand to release all ISIS prisoners who were due to be relocated to Iraq. Many of these individuals are locals from Deir Ezzor and Raqqa.
