Just found out that Metroid Prime 4 has a different title theme when you first boot-up the game. Left is first boot-up, right is subsequent boot-ups on the same profile.

A really neat touch found at SkyTown on Elysia in Metroid Prime 3 is how when you first arrive, and before you destroy the Leviathan on the surface, you can see it from the city up above from multiple vantages. After you destroy it and return it’s gone. Metroid is just art, man.

Looks pretty conclusive that they used a frame or two early for the VAR lines. At point of contact foot is open and leg is straight. On VAR still pic, boot is closed and leg bent. But because ball is behind the boot you can’t see gap between boot and ball.
