bitcoin doesn't use encryption (for spending).

Tom Lee is full of crap. He’s picked the wrong horse with $ETH and will pay the price.

Firstly Tom Lee never said that, it was a team of Google Researchers that did. Secondly, a quantum computer capable of breaking Bitcoin would also threaten banks, governments and most internet encryption as they rightly highlight on the interview And thirdly, the idea that this tech breaks BTC by 2028 is laughable. Quantum computers have hundreds to low-thousands of noisy qubits. Breaking Bitcoin would likely require millions of fault-tolerant qubits. Calling it now is like climbing the first 100 metres of Everest and declaring you’re basically at the summit. We’re not even close.

If bitcoin isnt safe from quantum then neither will your bank accounts so what's the point anyway.
