totally agree. people are exhausted with being outraged all the time, and they want things to look forward to so they have hope and to feel like they can enjoy things again. i’ve literally followed people who criticized something i said in good faith because the way they are disagreeing is not from an outrage perspective. not saying i don’t contribute to the outrage machine because i absolutely have in the snyder regard before. but i do really appreciate when someone can disagree with me and have a DIALOGUE about it. not just “it’s woke slop it’ll flop i hate that there’s no big space fights” but something like “this isn’t what i expected or really wanted from a green lantern show, but i’m going to keep watching to see how it ends.” i try to encourage people who disagree with me in the right way the best i can but i want to do better

I’ll be honest! Used to enjoy those rage bait channels.. I wouldn’t enjoy a show an it was nice to see other similar opinions. But when they started attacking movies/shows without even seeing them (Odyssey for example) I realized their only focus was on clicks & driving hate…

loving that optimism i teach my teen son a lot about the negativity bias and why creators make outrage content This was a great book I read a while back. @comicsexplained would probably enjoy this, with them psych theories he was dropping

I also believe our media conglomerates are also noticing this exhaustion of rage and are doing their best to incite it and keep it around. I just think humans are not built for it. People want to hope again. People want to look forward to the future. People want to have community

I think it’s a lot to do with people getting older and realizing it’s exhausting being angry all the time. Real or forced.

You & Rob both do a good job of bringing in constructive criticism. It’s why my initial comment that started this was “I don’t think it’s Rob’s style.” He’s just not a rage baiter which is a better way to describe it. You don’t notice the negative because there’s still positives

I’ll be the first to tell you, brother I watch a lot of Youtubers who react to shows and movies in the same genre in which we like. You’re the only person I watch when it comes to lantern. the only person that actually comes with an intelligent conversation in regards to show

totally agree, people are so quick to “hate” on something that they haven’t even consumed and will base all their opinions based off what other people are saying cause its trendy. alot of people also can’t/don’t know how to differentiate valid criticism & hate.

I'm a centrist. I have left and right views. I dislike Lanterns- racism, writing, whatever, mostly the disservice to the characters. I wanted more than anything to enjoy Lanterns, but I can't. I prefer balanced takes. You, Rob, and many other get that well. Much love to you man.
