There is no longer any path to limiting warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius (Paris Agreement), unless we use geoengineering. Reflecting 1% of sunlight away from earth would lead to an extra... ~1 degree of cooling. Our simulator lets you explore how geoengineering via Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI) gives us new paths to keep warming to 1.5 degrees. This seems like a very arrogant approach to the problem. Does everybody on earth have a vote? What happens if something goes wrong and we want 1% more sunlight in the future, is there a plan to undo this?

this is as accurate as the covid simulations saying 8% of humans would die from covid. which was off by 4 orders of magnitude. Sorry, there is no current issue with 'climate'. only issues are with keeping clean, oxygenated air. and blasting particles into it works AGAINST that

simulating climate models is cute but we need radical action not more visualizations. geoengineering without fixing consumption patterns is just kicking the can down a very warm road

Do you think it's really a good idea to insert aerosols into the atmosphere? Additionally is the simulation really accurate? Having a look at the graph it indicates that the positive results by lowering the temperature would be seen instantly?

Double edge sword. If the models are correct, and we take their recommended action, we can slow or reverse global warming. If the models are not correct, and we take their recommended action, we can set of a chain reaction that makes it much worse. Which do we choose?
