Just shipped Dialkit macOS which is an open source fork based on joshpuckett Dialkit web. When I worked on Dialkit iOS I thought Dialkit macOS would also be useful. Excited to see what people build with this. Link in replies.

@joshpuckett extremely cool! have you explored using macros to mark model fields as editable instead of declaring them manually? I'd be happy to contribute a PR for this 😁

@joshpuckett I’ll try the initial implementation and will reach out for feedback 😀

in case it helps, here's how i'd go about it: - declare a protocol for a model that contains controls and actions, simplest impl is probably just having a `controls` variable - declare a macro that implements the protocol in the model (just empty for now) (cont)

- declare an attached macro (maybe @Controllable?) which accepts a type enum (.title, .slider, .toggle, .color), along with optional title property - the first macro looks at all the attached macros and uses that data to build the controls variable

Thank you so much Miguel! I rely on coding agents but I still find the technical details interesting and just learned a lot from you lol

tell the agent to use this library for testing the macro as well! it should both make it a lot easier for it to validate things actually work and for you to quickly read through the tests and understand how it works (if you like that kinda stuff)

Will do! Thanks again Miguel! I appreciate you

@joshpuckett Would love a quick Loom on how it works to react to this Thursday!

@joshpuckett I got you Tommy! Will follow up with the Loom 😀

@joshpuckett Going to give this a try! Thanks for sharing

@joshpuckett Thanks Michael! Send any feedback my way and curious to see what you build!

@joshpuckett This looks like exactly something I have been needing desperately. Excited to work with it. Thanks! 🙏

@joshpuckett Been looking for something like this!

@joshpuckett Nice! Excited to see what you build with it

@joshpuckett earned the follow. blame whoever made me read the repo link twice

@joshpuckett Nice to see Dialkit move from iOS to macOS. The platform shift probably surfaced details the shared idea couldn’t hide.

@joshpuckett thank you) dialkit great work for me)

@joshpuckett open source mac fork that ships icons faster is a gift. dialkit looking clean.

@joshpuckett Web, iOS, now macOS... which one was the hardest to port?

@joshpuckett Open sourcing it makes it easy for others to build on. Congrats on shipping the macOS one.

@joshpuckett looking usable. nice ship!

@joshpuckett Wow, amazing!!

@joshpuckett Hahah, definitely I'll clone the repo once it's polished and share my tweaks!

@joshpuckett Dialkit on the Mac. The mochi in the notch would like one dial of its own.
