@threejs As you’re developing this, are you feeding ideas, like specular shading, to the agents, or are you asking it to develop the shaders in a particular way? How much is your guidance versus researching top techniques and having the agent implement them?

I’d say it’s a creative exploration. I find some aspect I’d like to improve, brainstorm until I find some solutions worth exploring, then start building prototypes. Lots of handholding. 90% of my experiments go in the garbage, but iteration is so fast it doesn’t matter. My background is in math, physics and engineering so I can understand what the models are doing, but I’m not an expert in water physics so I’m continually learning there.

Fixed it

I'll take a funnel so I can slurp that Ai slop

calling that slop is rude to your own hands

Looks amazing 👏 🤩

Link ?

Demo here: Video is showing an updated version I haven't released yet, so it won't look quite this good!

People can be made to believe the earth is flat again

Now it just needs a giant rubber duck...

Sick

That looks great.

@threejs Wait, this ocean is made with Three.js?!

Give me some more of this slop. Three.js continues to blow me away. WEBGPU in full effect

Can we just port Star Citizen to three already?

Still missing the last piece that none of these demos seem to get right. Water has a tendency to split apart and become larger and smaller collections of droplets at the top of the waves. All these demos seem to model the water as one continuous surface.

It's modeled that way so it can be computed in real-time. Particle-based simulations beyond a few 100k particles require offline rendering. You can fake the spray with particle effects but it isn't the same.

@threejs “What the prompt plzzzzz”

@threejs “Make an ocean, make it wet”

@KevinBlumson 👀

Did you record this via screencap or direct to disk via canvas?

I use OBS for screencap

Simply great ❤️🏆👏

IS THIS GTA VI???

so good

this is very impressive 💪🏻😍 the water looks very clear and good great Job

Amazing work Dan!

So beautiful

It’s real code? How can it be slop? Slop is for something that came out terribly

calling a full ocean sim slop is the most three.js thing ever. the foam alone is a weekend i would never get back

Please tell me a local model did this lol

calling it AI slop while people watch the Three.js piece is peak builder energy

@threejs Wow

Nice work. Looks stunning. Slightly better 3D textures than the game my son and I cooked up 😂

hard to believe it is ai generated.

You ever play exo one?

does this offer full parameter control? what about wind / waves?

Yes
