“blank canvas problem” figma says raw and unformed feelings… this should not be shared. * Look, I love AI! I lead and design products for AI & Data Solutions in one of the largest firms in the world. I use these tools every day. I’m one of the biggest advocates of AI. I do NOT fear it. I leverage it. I appreciate what Figma is trying to do here. Good intentions to help designers build faster. Make the design easier and accessible for everyone. And of course, meanwhile, profit from It. it is a business after all and it is perfectly fine. While I was watching Dylan generate detailed designs from a prompt, I started seeing aspiring designers getting attached to these tools and having everything easy, ready, quick… and a series of questions started to arise in my mind; * ➟ Are we going to see a generation of designers who lack resilience and love/appreciation for craft? ➟ Designers who are easily hurt and seek help from AI tools every time a client raises a criticism for the proposed design? ➟ Are these designers going to blame AI tools for the outcome and not take accountability for it? ➟ Perhaps they will go back to the AI input and generate 20+ options for clients in 5 mins without thinking instead of talking to the client, understanding the product positioning and actually thinking/exploring/working for the best design solution? ➟ Are we going to see lazier designers? and weak, giving up, getting frustrated easily? * Dylan says ”This tool helps us to get past the blank canvas problem” Blank canvas is one of the best parts of this work. A new fresh start with endless possibilities. Staring at the blank screen and reflecting on our past experiences, our conversations with the client, transforming these thoughts on screen pixel by pixel… That’s how we truly understand the problem at hand and grow as designers. You may say I’m being a romantic, trying to stay in the past. No. Again, I build these tools and encourage everyone to leverage them. However, yes, I have concerns. Just a little taste of the Robohacks hackathon happening now at Y Combinator in San Francisco. This is only two of the teams. The first is a team building a robot for an AirBnb on Mars. The second built a system that 3D prints new tools for the robot to do new work on Mars. Both demonstrate why I love builders so much. Dreaming of a new world and learning together how to build for a new robot none of them have used before.

This is Enter The Closet My first AI short film made collectively with some of my favorite AI artists and some new faces. I prompted the narrative and asked the AI community to help me visualize the world. This was a fun experimental exercise and I hope to do more in the future. Many tools were used across all 23+ artists including Google Veo 3.1, Nano Banana, Adobe Firefly, Sora 2 Pro, Elevenlabs, Topaz, Luma Ray 3, Kling 2.5, Hailuo 2.3 and more... I'll let them chime in on specific tools used.

Here's a look behind the scenes of how I used a 3d model, generated from an image, as a "driver" for ai animation. In the near future we'll see more 3d tools that support these types of workflows, with much more emphasis on enhancing user input instead of just letting the ai do everything. I used the 3d model to generate keyframes that I then animated in Luma Dream. By using a 3d model with a diffusion "layer" done with Krea, I got quite high quality frames with a relatively high consistency as well since the AI didn't have to "hallucinate" that much. I upscaled and detailed the frames using Magnific. Using semi-detailed 3d models as drivers for gen ai is very powerful, and it allows us to use models that are sculpted in a more free-flowing type of workflow that doesn't rely so much on high surface detailing or very time-consuming finish, but instead relies more on gestural 3d sculpting. #art #ai

The Genspark Super Agent / AI Secretary is an absolute game changer! Thanks to the connection with Google tools, I can access numerous functions such as gDrive, Calendar, and Mail, and, for example, get a summary of my emails and answers to further questions. The same goes for Calendar: I can now chat with the various Google tools using Genspark, get an overview, and access them. This significantly boosts productivity! I can get an overview by not only sorting my emails, but also discussing their content with AI and making entries directly in the calendar. An AI secretary became a reality.
