Here are some interesting facts about the fire in Maui that should make you ask questions. The governor, emergency management admin, fire chief, lieutenant governor, and attorney general were not on the island when the fire broke out. So the 2 most critical emergency officials were AWOL. The emergency alert system also wasn't activated and there are 400 sirens all over the state. The only system they activated was the cellphone alerts, but those comms were down too for some people, with many residents reporting they had zero warnings, some reporting that officials and police told them to stay and they'd be safe just a few hours before engulfing the area. Lastly, they didn't have enough firefighters and equipment. Apparently there were only 60+ firefighters across the 3 islands, and the administrators said they didn't address the fires until they were already at the populated areas and unstoppable. The alarm bells of a conspiracy should be ringing in everyone's head right now.

With the money Canada sent to Ukraine, we could have bought roughly 50 fully crewed CL-415 water bombers… and still had enough left over for another 250. Instead, we watched Jasper burn. Trudeau campaigned on hiring more firefighters and promised we would never see another disaster like Jasper again. He had over 7 years in power to actually deliver on that. What we got instead was more virtue signalling, more billions sent overseas, and the same pathetic air tanker capacity we’ve had for years. Jasper didn’t have to be that bad. The tools existed. NEW: U.S. Coast Guard rescues a snowmobiler who was stranded on the ice in white-out conditions a mile from land in Lake Huron. The Mackinac Island Fire Department says if the Cutter Mackinaw crew had not already been in the area, the man would not have made it. "It was extremely slow going as drifting snow was waist-deep and the ice jagged and difficult to climb over," the fire chief said in a statement. "Extreme coordination between shore-based firefighters, Central Dispatch, and County Emergency Manager Bryce Tracy was able to track firefighters as they disappeared into the whiteout." The victim tried reaching the fire crews but eventually ran into open water. The USCG Cutter Mackinaw crew eventually spotted the man and brought him on board. He was rushed to the hospital and is now in stable condition.

The City of Bulawayo Fire and Ambulance Services Unit has started training firefighters of Rural District Councils (RDCs) in the southern parts of the country. Five RDCs (Tsholotsho, Kusile, Matobo, Insiza and Hwange) have seconded recruits for training. A total of 30 recruited firefighters commenced their training on Monday with each local authority having six members. From the 30 trainee firefighters, six of them are females. The City of Bulawayo provides technical expertise to the rural local authorities. In the past, the City of Bulawayo, had to travel more than 100KM to attend to some of the emergency services in the nearby local authorities. The equipping of the rural local authorities is expected to improve the country's disaster management with the Government of Zimbabwe also having procured fire tenders for the rural local authorities.

More proof that safety is not a Metro “core value”: It’s bad enough the public does it, but no fewer than three Metrobus drivers ignored the safety of DC Fire and EMS Department firefighters and violated city traffic regulations. Each driver drove into a “block where fire apparatus has stopped in answer to a fire alarm.” They also drove over “unprotected hose of a fire department when laid down on any street.” This was a small fire at Connecticut & Calvert NW a short time ago. This has been the law since at least 1949. The danger to firefighters that Metro and the other drivers presented is significant. Besides possibly hitting a firefighter, the vehicles can cut off the water supply for a fire. In this case, the hose was an attack line carried in the arms of firefighters. It could have been dragged out of their hands, injuring the firefighters. Randy Clarke, your drivers should be setting examples for the rest of us if safety is, as you keep saying, a core value. They should stop until directed by police or firefighters. This can also help keep other drivers from becoming a hazard. The fact that all three bus drivers who arrived at the intersection did the same thing indicates that this is a systemic problem involving training or supervision. The ninth convoy of vehicles for our firefighters has left for Ukraine from Britain. This is much more than just the transfer of 21 fire trucks. It is about protecting Ukrainian cities and saving the lives of civilians and rescuers who are being attacked by the Russians. I would like to thank the United Kingdom – the government, the fire and rescue services across England and Wales, and all the partners of this initiative. I also want to mention the British charity FIRE AID and International Development, which has been helping the State Emergency Service of Ukraine since 2014. This is now the largest international rescue service support project ever implemented by UK. As part of it, Ukraine received 169 fire and rescue vehicles and over 250,000 units of equipment.

He reached the 78th floor of the South Tower on 9/11, saw the fires, and was ready to fight them. But 5 minutes later, the building collapsed on him. We ask: 1) If the building was so weakened from intense fire it was about to collapse, why was Palmer so confident he could manage the blaze? 2) Why didn’t firefighters know the building was at risk of sudden collapse? 3) Why did dozens of firefighters report secondary explosions in the World Trade Center that were not caused by the airplane impacts? 4) Why did the largest loss of firefighters in world history (343) result in an investigation that the authors said was “set up to fail” and a “cover up”? 5) Why hasn’t the government provided any real answers?
