Kannada isn't from Tamil, It's from Dravidian Language! Same with Kodava too, it's not derived from Kannada. Most of all, Kodava is an independent language with its own writing system. It's not a subordinate language of Kannada! Stop calling Kodava the "UpaBhashe"

Dravidam is a sanskrit word. Is there any word called dravida in Tamil or any literature?

While respecting your sentiments towards Kodava language, as I know Kodava language derived from pancha dravida language and developed with some tribal language spoken in Western Ghat region. This is told by one of Kodava Scholar.

Kodava got separated from Kannada due to influence of Geogrophically closeeness to Kerala. Just like Badaga. Otherwise it is impossible for such micro area to have independent language
