You all watched the same race? Lewis brakes earlier and Lando needed to react to not crash into him on the second try.

Martin Brundle on Sir Lewis Hamilton's race engineer change this season: "Surprised it probably didn't happen a bit earlier really judging by all the things that were going on last year but... Lewis needs to go there with a team so as at least they understood lewis speak when he... you know when he's inside the car what it all means and to interpret what lewis really needs behind the wheel i think he needed some help to really flourish there quickly so let's see who turns up as his engineer now but uh just listening to the radio and watching performance although they obviously put a varnish on it didn't they through last season something needed to change..." Fernando Alonso was so right about the biased British F1 media. As a non-Brit, you have to fight twice as hard; against the drivers and against the biased British media. It has actually gotten worse. Not only do Max and Alonso have to fight against British drivers on the track, but also against the British media and British stewards like Johnny Herbert. Alonso vs George Russell in Australia. No contact at all, yet Alonso gets a penalty. The steward: Johnny Herbert. Max vs Lando last weekend: Max gets a penalty for 'intimidating drivers'. The steward: Johnny Herbert. Imagine if Johnny Herbert was a Dutch steward who kept penalizing Lando, George, and Lewis. Or if a Swiss referee was appointed to officiate the football match between England and Switzerland on Saturday.

“Oscar Pastri was speechless, left speechless after that one and ironically the fact that he finished second and Lando finished in fourth, it's actually disadvantage Oscar going into the final race in Abu Dhabi. What do you do now? Papaya rules, you know, you've got - Max is now 12 points behind, Oscar's 16 points behind, Lando needs to finish on the podium. Do you now have to change away from this? Andrea Stella: “First of all we understand Oscar being extremely disappointed, because like I said at the start, he has done everything right. He's been fast, he's been solid, he's been consistent, likewise Lando. So the drivers deserved to capitalize on their great performance. In terms of adapting the way we go racing, we just want to always keep the options open for both drivers. They both in condition to win the championship. There's been often in the history of Formula 1, a situation in which it was the third one, the third in the classification to actually win the championship. [..]” #QatarGP

Sky Sports UK's analysis of the Ferraris' race start: Karun Chandhok: "I think there’s a good argument to say [Charles] should have given a place back, but Ferrari were never going to argue that point. I think if it was two different teams, absolutely! If Lewis was still at Mercedes, Ferrari would have been absolutely in an argument with the officials and Mercedes would have been shooting about giving the place up." Simon Lazenby: "It does come down to control of car as well, when you are looking at driving standard guidelines, and actually Lewis is in control and Charles is not." Karun: "Having seen that [replay], I think Jamie [Chadwick] might have a point. Crofty [David Croft] up in commentary as well was pretty adamant that Charles should have been penalised. It’s the first time we’ve had a chance to see these angles and really understand it. The stewards would have had this during the race and decided not to look at it. Obviously Ferrari wouldn’t have complained. But having seen that, I do see that point." Jacques Villeneuve: "Definitely, because when he decided to floor it, he was behind Lewis. He made the decision to floor it. He could have made the effort to stay on the track." [Jamie's previous comment Karun refers to above:] Jamie: "I think Charles also deserved five seconds." Karun: "Charles came across the left-hand side, Lewis tucked in, he’s moving over, can see Lewis is coming, gives him just about enough width. Lewis has made a big effort to give Charles space. He’s given Charles all of that space to make the corner, there’s no doubt about it." "Leclerc gets a snap of oversteer because he’s on the dusty, dirty part of the track, and that’s actually why he’s ended up off the track. I don’t think he intended to go there, I don’t think it was a premeditated move to cut the corner, I think he got caught out on the dust." Honestly, Chelsea going for Myles Lewis-Skelly would be a bit funny because we probably shouldn’t have sold Andrey Santos if this is the type of player we’re now targeting. That said, I can see why the club might consider it. If Arsenal sign Pedro Neto and Lewis-Skelly becomes available for under £40m, it starts to make sense. He’s young, versatile, and can operate in midfield in different roles, which would help our squad depth. We’ve been saying we need another midfielder because I don’t fully trust Lavia and Essugo as the main backups. Adding Lewis-Skelly alongside Caicedo and Enzo would definitely improve things. But it still feels a bit frustrating when you remember we sold Santos and might now spend big on someone who could end up playing a similar role. Still, if the deal happens and he becomes an important player, I wouldn’t complain. Would you take Lewis-Skelly for under £40m, or stick with what we’ve already got?

#AbuDhabiGP 🇦🇪 || Lando Norris: “Lewis was on top for so many years and I feel like I’ve got to play a small part in trying to continue that, which feels amazing.” “The fact that I grew up watching Lewis and I love the guy. I texted him when he sent me some words of wisdom on thursday night after the dinner, just to try and help me out a little bit and that’s something I love and respect a lot.” “But just the fact that I get to see my name next to his, is something pretty nuts ‘cause I grew up watching him so the fact that I now get to race against him and he helps me out at times, he helps me through those moments, I love it.” “I mean… I.. yeah… feel like the kid in me is coming out again… but it’s an incredible thing.”

Lando and George’s thoughts on Lewis getting his first win in red: Lando: “I think pretty cool. It’s pretty special. It’s nice. You know, the last few weekends he’s certainly seemed to have upped his game and as much as it, yeah, was something we once could kind of take advantage of and try and make the most of, it seems like he’s making the most of what he’s got now, and that’s cool to see. I grew up as a fan of Lewis and I don’t know if I would still say I’m like that kind of fan, but I’m still a fan of him. And as a seven-time World Champion, it’s always a pleasure to see those kinds of things. And with Ferrari again, it’s even cooler to kind of see that partnership come through and kind of pay dividends, as it is doing now. So, yeah, special. And also, to share the podium with him and then with George, to have three Brits up there, I think the first time since 1968, I think someone said. Pretty special, pretty cool for us to represent our country that way. And, yeah, I’m happy for him. I hope he’s not this fast the whole season, because it would be nice if we could battle a bit more, but good for him. I think you could see how much it meant to him. At the same time, he’s obviously had a lot of people talk badly about him and he’s got a lot of crap online from a lot of people, so it’s nice that he can stick the middle finger up to all of them.” George: “Yeah, I mean he said it pretty well. We both sort of grew up as fans of Lewis and, you know, for myself, spending three years together in Mercedes, so much respect. It was a big, bold move to join Ferrari, and to see it now paying off for him is very special to see given the magnitude of the decision. And, yeah, he’s going to be a real threat. So, as Lando said, hopefully it doesn’t continue for too long, but to be standing up here, three Brits, first time in 60 years, it’s a special feeling.”

Gilbert Arenas on what he don’t like about narratives in basketball, especially the ones coming out about Nikola Jokic: “Because the narratives is exactly the problem with sports because it’s presented as a team game until you want to run the narrative on how bad a player is doing or failing. So this is what it sounds like. He never beat a 50 win team. So it’s him verse a team. He had the Wolves down 3-2. Not Anthony Edwards, you know. It just him. He had not his team. He had the USA down 17. The US is being presented as a team. He lost to the hospital Wolves. So you’re isolating the best player on a team, but that he’s going against the team itself, right? We’re removing the rest of the players on this team. So if the rest of the players play horrible, you know, someone goes 4 for 17, we don’t pay attention to him. Jokic, you fu*ked up. Jokic, you lost. Jokic, you can’t get over the hump.” (Via Gilbert Arenas)

🎙️Lando Norris about always staying true to himself: (If you have a moment, whether you like him or not, listen to this. It might be one of his best and most genuine answers) "I'm happy I won it my way" "I got the most out of what I am" "I know I've said some things about Max, Lewis. Some things I regret and I wish I could take back" "Do I regret some of the things I've said? Yes. A lot of them were in the heat of the moment" "Deep down I hate when you write crap about me? I do. It's also life and I've learnt to live with that" "I won it in my way. Try to be a good person, a good team member. I'm proud about that. No matter what other people write about it. No one knows the truth apart from the people on the inside in terms of what's going on" "As long as I know I've done a good job then that's the only thing I need to listen to"

🎥 || Stephen Lord reveals that in Monza Lewis Hamilton felt quite emotional and left a personal note for Kimi Antonelli in his room, the note will be there forever as well. "Probably the one that I'm fondest of, happened this year and it's quite an interesting insight into the Lewis perhaps that the people don't see." "It was after the race in Monza. [..] I think the engineers had left so Lewis was upstairs in the room on his own. Lewis came down the stairs, ready to leave and head home. He goes to the bottom of the stairs and he stopped and then he turned around and he went back upstairs. He's forgotten something, didn't think much of it." "He came back down about 10 minutes later and he grabbed a guy that works with the team - Carlos. And you could see that Lewis was really quite emotional. And I was stood there and he said 'It's has only just occurred me that I'm never gonna see that room ever again' and he said 'I'm really emotional, it's like I can't leave, I feel kind of sad to walk away from that room because I been in that room for so many years and I'm never gonna see it again'. And he was really quite touched that he was leaving it behind." "Anyways, so off he went, I went back up to the room to pack his last few bits of driving kit and grab the helmets and everything." "I walked into the room and on the wall there's quite a long handwritten note. It was a note to Kimi. It was basically welcoming him to his new room and it was wishing him the best of luck, saying some really nice things about the team and how 'if you care for them, they'll care for you' because they're a great team. And I thought 'wow what a nice thing to do. Actually now we've had it glass cut so it'll be there forever." "I walked into the bathroom and next to the toilet, above the toilet roll holder was 'Lewis was here' with a big smiley face."

Max on the online discourse around Lando: "I don't know why everyone's so doom and gloom about Lando and stuff. I don't get it man." "He himself is feeling not as comfortable with the car and whatever, whatever else is going on. And he's still on the podium and still leading the championship." "He's not put a bad results in. [I] just don't know why there's so much noise, all this and that, I don't get it. Bloke's leading the championship, he's been on the podium every race. And he hasn't been 100% himself in my opinion, there's a lot more in there and in the tank to go for the rest of the year." "There's so much hate? I mean, I feel like we saw- there was so much hate on Vettel when he started to do well, so much hate on Max when he started to do well, this is just sports bro." "I mean, a lot of it's just forced and you can't take notice of it. People do it just to entertain themselves and whatever it may be. The world carries on. [...] But you go into the paddock, be around the whole racing community, he's very loved in the paddock. It's not even a thing. It's not real life that, whatever you guys see [online], it's not real."

#SaudiArabianGP 🇸🇦 | Lewis Hamilton post quali: “It was challenging as always, qualifying for me. I’ve been nowhere all weekend, 13th I think in almost every session. I’m grateful I got to Q3 and P7. Not spectacular last lap but I’ve been making improvements all weekend. Needed a better lap at the end. But as I said I’m grateful to be there, still plenty of time to come.” “Praying [it’s better tomrorow]. Trying to find the time, trying to bond with this car on a single lap is something that I’m finding really difficult at the moment but we don’t give up. Where there’s a will there’s a way. We keep pushing, we keep trying. I’ve got some amazing support so just keep working hard.”

Arne Slot doubling down on his claim that Liverpool are a 'very fair team' 😤 "It’s not about luck or bad luck and it’s not about the set-piece goals scored or against, that we’re just better than that. It doesn’t matter if Hugo Ekitike goes 1v1 with the goalkeeper, gets a pull on the shoulder twice or three times but does everything to stay on his feet, like our players mainly do. And one minute later in the other 18-yard box, a player goes to the ground as if it was the worst hit he ever had and the referee gives a penalty. "By the way, if we had the same referee we had against Galatasaray, we wouldn’t have lost against Palace because this one blew his whistle exactly after eight minutes." 😬

“Can British fans expect an even stronger Lando Norris this season? We've obviously seen a fair amount of self-doubt from him in the past. Will the states of World Champion help him be even more confident this year?” Andrea Stella: “I think Lando will definitely be stronger in 2026 and not necessarily because he was the champion in 25 but because of this logic of growth that is adopted by the team, but is also adopted by our drivers. So I expect as well Oscar to be faster, stronger and even more complete year by year independently that the 2025 season unfolded like it did. Just every race is an opportunity to learn, every race is an opportunity to become better and better. I see really great work already happening with our drivers, great conversations, lots of energy, lots of hours and days at the simulator to learn about the 2026 chassis and power unit. So, I think the drivers are definitely preparing theirself at the best and they are looking forwards like us all to finally put the car on the ground and start the 2025 seasons.”
