💔 A deeply heartbreaking scene from the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary… In the Mugguru range near Kanakapura, a 40-year-old mother elephant died after drinking heavily polluted water from the Arkavati River. Her grieving calf was seen standing beside the body, placing its trunk on her and mourning inconsolably for hours. Post-mortem report: Approximately 35 litres of contaminated water mixed with toxic substances were found in the elephant’s stomach. The Arkavati River, a key tributary of the Cauvery, has faced severe pollution in recent years. According to Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) data under the National Water Monitoring Programme, microbial pollution (coliform bacteria) in stretches near Kanakapura has reached nearly 350 times the safe limit. Primary causes include: • Untreated industrial effluents discharged from factories and industrial areas. • Untreated domestic sewage from rapid urbanization on Bengaluru’s outskirts. • Agricultural runoff containing pesticides and fertilizers. • Loss of natural wetlands and buffers due to development and quarrying. This forest and river ecosystem is the natural home of wild animals elephants, tigers, birds, and many other species that have lived here for generations. Human activities and environmental pressures are increasingly impacting their habitat. The Karnataka Forest Department, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, and the State Government have an important responsibility to address river pollution through stricter enforcement, mandatory sewage and effluent treatment, wetland restoration, and stronger ecosystem protection. Urgent and effective action is needed to prevent future tragedies. A touching update: A herd of wild elephants later adopted the orphaned calf and took it with them. We must work together to protect our rivers, forests, and wildlife. #SaveWildlife #ArkavathiPollution #CauveryWildlife #ElephantProtection #StopRiverPollution #EnvironmentalConservation

“We are VIPs, We Cannot Stand in Queues: KSCA Should Give 5 Tickets to Each MLA and Minister of Karnataka,” says Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar Bengaluru Congress MLA Vijayananda Kashappanavar has strongly criticized the Karnataka State Cricket Association (#KSCA) for denying tickets to legislators and ministers for the upcoming Indian Premier League (#IPL) matches starting March 28. Speaking to reporters, Kashappanavar said that despite availing government facilities such as security, KSCA has failed to show respect to elected representatives. “They are not issuing tickets to MLAs, ministers, or their families. Instead, they are asking people to book online. We all know how online booking works,it leads to black marketing. Tickets worth ₹5,000 are being sold for ₹35,000,” he alleged. The MLA demanded that at least five tickets be allotted to each legislator along with separate seating arrangements. “We are VIPs; we cannot stand in queues. Last time, we were made to sit in the general gallery with the public. This should not happen again,” he said, adding that the issue has been raised in the Assembly and taken up with the Speaker. Kashappanavar further revealed that the Deputy Chief Minister has assured legislators of resolving the matter by arranging tickets and ensuring proper seating. On the Home Minister’s meeting with KSCA, Kashappanavar dismissed claims of effective guidelines being issued. “There are no proper guidelines. KSCA has become too powerful because IPL matches are happening. They are collecting money and enjoying it. If this continues, we will fight against it,” he warned. 🚨Bridge Theft in Bengaluru!🚨 Respected Siddaramaiah, DK Shivakumar, We, the proud citizens of Bengaluru, are fed up with the continuous collapse of bridges in Bihar, which are indirectly funded by states like Maharashtra and Karnataka through their generous contributions to the central government's tax collection. Meanwhile, we have completely neglected the fact that an entire bridge was stolen right here in Bengaluru! The stolen bridge was located on Chintalamadivala-Muthanaluru Road, just 5 km from Sarjapur Road. It spanned a 20-foot-wide Rajakaluve that connected Huskur Lake with Singena Agarhara Lake. The Rajakaluve was widened during the KC Valley Project, under the guidance of J Manjunath IAS and led by Capt.Santhosh. K.C.. About 15 days ago, there was a large excavation on the road. We all assumed they would remove the old 3-foot drain pipe and replace it with a proper concrete bridge. However, to our surprise, they removed the pipe, filled it with concrete and soil, and leveled it as if there had never been a bridge there at all! This Rajakaluve dates back to the Chola era, and while the Rajakaluve itself still exists, the connecting bridge has vanished! We are utterly baffled as to who could have executed this audacious robbery! We implore the government to look into this matter immediately. It's a serious theft that cannot be ignored! Team1 Turkiye Is Officially Here 🇹🇷 Prior to becoming an official Team1 chapter, Team1 Turkiye had already been actively contributing to the growth of the ecosystem and onboarding talent to Avalanche Over the past years we’ve accomplished: - 35+ events with 3,850 attendees hosted across Turkiye, from Istanbul to emerging tech cities - 22 university collaborations, bringing Avalanche into classrooms across the country - Working with 10 leading Web3 projects, exchanges and financial institutions - Hands-on engagement with developers, builders and students For many developers and students, these events served as the first real introduction to building on Avalanche. And for some, they represented the starting point for projects that are still growing. Collaborations with projects and companies like Chainlink TR, Bitget, OKX TR, Pangolin, ParibuHub, Garanti BBVA Kripto, Misyon Bank, Dexalot, and Kast Card helped to expand the community’s reach and connect builders to the broader ecosystem. This is in addition to our relationships with local communities such as Koza DAO, Blokverse, and Dogu Blockchain. For 2026, our focus is scaling both reach and impact. We aim to grow the Team1 Türkiye community by onboarding new members, activating contributors nationwide, expanding into new cities and increasing hands-on workshops to support builders at every stage. At the same time, we will deepen collaborations with ecosystem partners from Web3 projects to institutions and introduce new event formats to create more engaging community experiences. Team1 Türkiye is committed to building a stronger, more connected and builder-driven Avalanche ecosystem in 2026.
