KEEP PLAYING Stop reacting to every little thing that doesn’t go your way and just focus on making the next play. Seems simple, a lot of coaches preach this, players understand, but it is REALLY HARD TO EXECUTE on a consistent basis.

My #1 phrase is “next play” for the exact same reasons. HS kids, for some reason, think they need to be perfect and they react every time they aren’t. I’m always trying to remind them to move onto the next play. Missed a shot? Get a rebound. Turned the ball over? Get a steal.

🏀 "The kids love it. I have kids fighting over who can get here earliest to get shots off before school." – Coach Garrison When passion meets performance, Noah Backboard makes it happen. Turn practice into obsession with shot-tracking that players can’t get enough of.

We use the concept “mentally transition” or “reframe”. Great stuff coach.

PASSING VARIABILITY The reality is that most players are not getting thrown strikes on their shot attempts. Great shooting teams are great passing teams. While we want to work on our passing in training, we also need to have the ability to make shots off of non-strikes. Adding this to your shooting drills will help passers place the ball in different spots, but more importantly help shooters handle tough passes and make them easier shots.
