There was absolutely no reason to shoot that dog, it was backing up while the guy was having a panic attack, recklessly drawing his weapon.

Yep. For some reason the breeds of dog that require the highest level of responsibility are often sought out and acquired by the least responsible people. Then it becomes a problem for everybody. Almost getting attacked by a dumbass dog simply walking 10 ft from your door to your car... Is why I make that stroll now with my pistol plainly visible. I want to know that the neighbor knows that I will blast that damn dog if it tries to attack me again.

Huge dog lover here. And dog foster. He was in the right to shoot the dog. The anger should be with the owner especially if there is a leash law in this county. Dogs, especially powerful breeds such as pit bulls require responsible owners.

If you want a fun experiment, go on YouTube and search for the term "dog attack" Then go over to filters and display only the videos from the last two weeks or the last month. Now scroll the videos and realize that someone is attacked by a dangerous dog nearly every day and there is a local news story about it. Also notice how it's almost entirely Pitbull type dogs.
